Nate Archibald is a former American professional basketball athlete. Over a span of 14 years, he competed in the National Basketball Association (NBA), notably representing the Cincinnati Royals/Kansas City-Omaha Kings and the Boston Celtics. In 1991, he was honoured with inductions into both the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame and the New York City Basketball Hall of Fame.
Archibald possessed solid passing skills and a decent midrange shooting ability. Yet, it was his remarkable quickness, speed, and agility that rendered him a formidable force to contend with, particularly in open-court situations where he routinely eluded defenders to drive towards the basket. This multifaceted skill set enabled him to achieve a rare feat in NBA history by leading the league in both scoring and assists during the 1972-73 season, a distinction shared by only one other player.
