Dr. J's rock the cradle dunk in the NBA finals is my favorite dunk in NBA history. I watch that game live. My favorite dunk since seeing when it happened.💯

To me, Dr. J is the guy who really started America's excitement over dunking. Just thinking of all those times he would take off at the foul line, reach the apex and then come down on the rim like he was landing a jet. Man, his knees must hurt him today!

At 1:50, the entire arena stands up BEFORE Dr J makes the dunk in anticipation for what he would do. That’s incredible. It’s like thousands of people collectively had the same thought, “oh snap, the doctors got the ball! watch what he’s gonna do on this fast break!”

That first move by Doc is, to me, still the greatest single move/play in NBA history. I'm sure there have been better things since but for that time (and even now) it was out of this world. I've always said there were many players better than Erving but no player evolved the game quicker than he did. He was the most monolithic player ever.

The one thing we were robbed of in the Jordan era was a Olajuwan/Jordan matchup in the finals we lost out on in '94 and '95 due to Jordan playing baseball. Hakeem was just a guy who added and added to his game every year, at his peak he was the most complete center I ever saw.
@robotube7361
@robotube7361 Рік тому
Actually he was always skilled af. its just he never had a team around him to do what Jordan did. Hakeem didnt have Pippen and a well oiled machine behind him. He carried those teams on his back. The only help he had was in 1986 when he had Samson but that was brief and he reached the finals with Samson in his 2 years in NBA. the Bulls without Jordan were championship caliber team alone.Let that sink in. They were eliminated by the Knicks 4-3 who then narrowly lost the final 4-3 to Hakeem. I dont think Olajuvon's Houston in 1994 would have beaten the Bulls with Jordan. The Bulls were just on another level with Jordan. If Hakeem had at least another hall of famer on his team - then it might have been a different story.

Most of the best plays are missing because of lack of tv coverage and 90% of them involve Wilt, easily the real GOAT

Very easily. I got to see the last half of his career. I didn’t like him at all because I bought into the whole his more concerned with his stats thing, but objectively he is easily the greatest, most dominant player ever. MJ not even the third best I’ve seen, for example.

You got to respect your elder cause he's the one that though you the ways.DR.J is .When they played at that time is was rough then after that when you touch the opponent jersey they will call you a foul.Thats what makes him a pioneer.

Nice job showing PART of Reggie Miller's "Knick Killer" series. 8 points in about as many seconds, plus 2 steals, to turn a 6 point losing game into a 2 point win. 7:54 or so.

Great video, thanks so much for making it. You only missed a few plays: 1) Wilt swatting two skyhooks from young Kareem 2) Wilt reverse dunking on young Kareem 3) Kareem making some buzzer beating skyhooks, any one will do 4) Anything from James worthy's 1988 Finals MVP performance, or from 1987 in the finals 5) some more Larry Bird passes 6) Larry Bird putting 60 on Atlanta, where the Atlanta bench freaked out 7) Steph Curry lighting it up Best video so far of all time plays, you even got "Havlicek stole the ball!!" in there

Саня Андрийчук Great player, but did you see him push off with his left hand? He’s made so many great moves, that one didn’t deserve to be the last highlight.
@asaaziz6162
@asaaziz6162 4 роки тому
@@RSidneyB it really did, that was his last game in a bulls uniform, he won his 6/6th championship with that shot, and you're talking about the obvious push off, this is part of the greatest plays ever. So what the ref didnt call the foul, at that time the game was more physical, and jordan is the greatest ever.
@blanketstarry7725
@blanketstarry7725 4 роки тому
@@RSidneyB Look closely at his hand from the closer angle. His hand was on the defender but hardly pushing, if at all. His hand was there to gauge him, but no push was needed or done. The defender was faked and went too far, then slipped.
@joshuamcneal
@joshuamcneal 4 роки тому
@@blanketstarry7725 Whole sequence shouldn't have mattered. There was a 6 point swing earlier in the game. Eisley makes a 3, refs wave it off for shot clock violation. Harper shoots a 3 after shot clock expired, refs count it. Oh, and Jordan did push off, he even admitted it. NBA wanted Bulls to win. That was the gambling ref era, gambling Jordan era. All rigged.
@blanketstarry7725
@blanketstarry7725 4 роки тому
@@joshuamcneal Great, a conspiracy theorist. Let me guess, you also think the Earth is flat. No matter what happened earlier in the game, it came down to that last play. All you have to do is look at the close up and you can see there was hardly any force in that push, certainly not enough to make a guy go flying by and fall. Players put their hands on defenders (and the other way around) back then because it was legal and you could gauge them and direct them. The defender was already flying by because he was faked out so Jordan's hand did little more than just gauging him. Of course, if you believe in conspiracy theories (like the game was "influenced" by refs because the NBA wanted him to win), then you will always think one way.

Replaying the play when Bird steals the ball vs the Pistons that is not the version with Johnny Most in it should be punishable with 10,000 dollar fine and/or 5 years in jail. Good video though.
