Barnard and the physicians committee is a front for animal welfare, he lies and misrepresents studies. A vegan diet is deficient, unhealthy long term and can lead to permanent damage. Just look at that dry atrophied head sitting precariously on that pencil neck of his, and his sunken eye balls. Doesn’t look like his diet is working out for him.
@whaleshark19

I hope that you’ll find a way to open your mind. Compassion and health begin with what we put on our plates. This is the vision which sustains me-I hope one day everyone will see the truth of it.

@@whaleshark19 We should end factory farming. However all agriculture involves killing and is unsustainable. Veganism is extremely deficient, unnatural, unhealthy, and would result human extinction. The answer is in regenerative farming, locally grown nutrient dense ruminants replenish topsoil and ultimately require less killing, less transport and less pesticides and deforestation. The answer is in growing our animals sustainably and ethically, abolishing factory farming and feeding animals their natural diet. We are facultative carnivores, converting humans to an exclusively plant diet is impossible.

@@nomnomgamer9882 *_"extremely deficient, unnatural, unhealthy"_* -> None of this is true, in fact it's the complete opposite. Until you provide actual research, your abhorrent claims are dismissed. After all the burden of proof is on you. We are omnivores, not "facultative carnivores" there is zero evidence of that over the evidence of our omnivorism. *Not a single carnivore on the planet* produces amylase, we produce it in our saliva. Amylase is an enzyme that starts the digestion of carbs, found in our mouth. We're also the only omnivore to have it in our mouth, and in the levels it is. Same for other primates. Being a Vegan newbie, I REALLY appreciated this and the eCookbook! Thanks so much! I'm ready to start cooking every recipe, even the ones to cook with kids because I have never grown up. Also, my Doctor explained that I need to eat either beans or brown rice each day for the amino acids I am missing from my vegan diet, so I really appreciated your advice. I never thought of blending the beans to use in other recipes. Doh! I can make vegan bean burritos!

With tofu, I've found that if you drain the liquid for about 15 minutes, pat it dry with a paper towel, then slice it up, put in a ziplock bag and put in the freezer for a day, the next day thaw it in the frig, and once thawed coat it in your sauce of choice, then coat it with panko, and if you have a air fryer, cook it at 400 for 15 minutes. The end result is a crispy and more meaty textured tofu, great in stews or stir fries or even on a sandwich.

I love tofu done this way, and so do my kids: 2 packs of extra firm tofu, sliced lengthwise down the middle so you have 4 slices. Place them on a towel. Cut them into cubes. Place a cookie sheet with heavy cans on top and leave for a couple of hours to get the water out. Take off the heavy top and pat dry. Put oven on 300 degrees F. Spread tofu cubes on the cookie sheet. Sprinkle low sodium soy on top of the cubes then place in the oven for at least 30 minutes. Take them out, eat as snack, put in a baggy, use for sandwiches, stir frys or whatever you like. Delicious!

The problem is the nutrients in food plants are difficult for your body to assimilate since they are bound to plant matter. Plant matter is much different than our flesh. Interesting video I’m an old guy now and my kidneys becoming weaker I have worked at eating healthier but it was determined that my potassium levels were extremely high and though I have been health conscious for a long time I had to do some serious changes to my diet which included cutting out completely or limiting a lot of foods o love to eat such as bananas, avocados, tomatoes, many canned foods such as beans, some vegetables, tomato based foods. I’m not vegan but I like many vegetables just more conscious about the potassium so many canned products are not for me. And ones that are are thoroughly rinsed. I have cut considerably meat products but still enjoy some and not as often. I’m the guy in a grocery store picking products and on my iPhone checking the potassium levels, LOL. Also I was always a big eater eating a lot at settings and the desire is still there for that but I have learned to cut portions greatly for most meals. And if I say so I’m a good cook and can make a meal with very limited things and delicious for one person. Many of the things I thought were healthy can be detrimental to my condition and even at my age it’s never too late to learn.
