Jeans are one of the most beloved and popular things in our wardrobe. I have about ten of them in my closet, in different colors and styles, this is the most convenient thing. I don't know a single person who doesn't have them.
Jeans are always in fashion. From the widest range you can always choose a model that will fit your figure perfectly.
Another plus is that you can experiment with jeans: sew on something, add something, cut it off. And it always looks as intended.
After wearing the jeans for a long time, they still look good and are suitable for alterations.
One of the successful solutions is to sew a rug or blanket for the sofa. I’ll say right away that one pair will not be enough, but given that everyone in the family wears jeans, you can always collect several pieces.
My rug will be the easiest to make, but will still look fresh and stylish.
To work, you will need a base - fabric on which the parts will be sewn. If it is a bedspread, then the base will be thinner; if it is a rug, then it will be denser.
If you still have Soviet flannelette blankets, this is an excellent backing for a rug.
- I cut strips of denim fabric 11 cm wide and 30 cm long. What remains is also used in work.
- You also need to prepare strips 4 cm wide, which will be attached on top of the joints, like a jumper. Any fabric is suitable for them, plain or with a pattern, but the density should be approximately the same as denim.
- First, I arranged the pieces by color. You can first sew them into one long strip and then attach them to the base.
- I did it differently. I applied two rectangles and attached a strip on top.
- First I stitched the short ones, then the long ones.
- The last thing is edge processing. I placed the strip on the wrong side and stitched it down.
- In the corner, the fabric was folded diagonally and stitched until it crossed, then the stitch was interrupted. Then I folded the strip at a right angle and started a new line from the end of the previous line.
- When you turn the strip onto your face, you get a neat corner.
- I stitched the stripe from the front side.
- A small touch - a label from the jeans belt.
Ready.
A small denim rug is an opportunity to save money and get original decor.
