The video showcases the Rover and the Jezero crater (the surrounding landscape), you will see Mars' terrain captured from different angles on different days since the rover touched the Martian surface. You will also see the Perseverance rover completing certain tasks, including deploying a helicopter (Ingenuity) ready for testing. Enjoy!

I dont think people realize how significant this is in a scientifically historic nature. We have pictures of the surface of another planet. ANOTHER PLANET! It's amazing how the last 4 or 5 years have been a boom of information about the cosmos. Just wish I could be around to see the future of it.

One small step for man one giant leap for man kind.....being able to be alive and seeing them land on the moon to this in my life time is awesome ... When I was 5 (1964) my brother would point up the the sky and show me and say look there's mar's, so every time I watch these I think of him

I was one of the lucky 11 million (just under) people who got their names embedded on the tiny plaque on the Rover. It is the only way I will ever get into space. To me, this mission means 'I am there, I made it'.

What is the purpose of living on Mars, as if we're able to maintain a civil life on earth. We aren't leaving this planet and colonize on another planet, it's not in God's playbook for humans.

Its nice to just listen to the music and think about how the planet became how it is and how many other intelligent life forms have visited in the last million years and moved on to inhabit space and other planets. This was supposed to be a video about Ingenuity, the Mars Helicopter and its first flight, however, that was delayed because of an anomaly according to NASA. So, in its place, this week, is something a little different than usual, a Perseverance Rover image showcase. A relaxing look at some of the best images captured so far from the Jezero crater. Nico lol you're like one of the earliest caveman, they thought they could survive in the antarctics land so they migrated, weathers below 40 deegrees they all died except the ones who learned from the earlier dead cavemens, but this is a fact, what you wish for if it comes true, you would last half a second since it's like 400 degrees below 0 in mars, the cams and equipment have trouble staying warm, its why they announced a few set backs, in getting the equipment to stay warm to work, good luck to your 1st generation caveman spirit.

I love so much the serenity and perfection of your videos. The cosmos is very fascinating but depressing, as we only discover dead worlds, frozen deserts. And it’s heartbreaking to think that water and oceans flowed once on this beautiful planet. If i had some power after this life, i would like to fly until these past times and observe Mars when it was alive and the inner ocean under Encelade’ crust and dinosaurs, and first humans, all the wonders in universe.

Probably not. The one problem we can't really solve is that of gravity. We are not built for 1/3 of Earth's gravity, and that is what we would get on Mars. For instance, there is some evidence a successful pregnancy might require gravity close to what we find on Earth. We could fake gravity by having something like trains moving in circles at very high speed and banked over almost on their sides, but (1) should the train derail for any reason at any time, it would kill everyone on board, (2) getting things and people on and off the trains would be a hassle, and (3) what's the point of being on a planet if you're stuck in an artificial device like a train -- not even able to appreciate the horizon?

Susan Bishop Pathfinder, the first Mars rover, landed on Mars 24 years ago, in 1997. However, this is still a fantastic scientific and engineering accomplishment. It is also a tremendous waste of money. We have found dust and rocks and dusty rocks.

Mars is actually pretty hostile. Freezing cold temperatures, high amounts of radiation, toxic soil and a thin atmosphere made of mostly carbon dioxide.

Outstanding footage! Don't know if anyone noticed but near the end of the video Perserverance was panning across what looked like a ridge of rocks. It gave me goosebumps because it looked like the remnants of a stone wall that may have been part of an ancient city. With so many rocks scattered about, and half buried in the sand, How did they all get there? Glacial activity, wind storms? And how did they fragment into what we see now? So many questions and so few answers. Lets hope we find out more about our terrestrial neighbor. Wish I was young enough and strong enough to qualify for the first Martian Colony. I would go in a heartbeat.

I never thought I would see this in my lifetime! So amazing the fact that I could watch live broadcast images taken from the surface of another planet, all on a tiny cool device called a touch screen smartphone that fits in my pocket/hand! I remember when only Dick Tracy and Johnny Quest had a video/gps/telephone wristwatch. Now we have the Apple Watch. We didn’t even have the Internet yet when I was a kid! Incredible! 💕

For all we know we could have lived on mars once and already made these same mistakes and it would have cost us all our advancements and reset us so far back that any knowledge of the past would have been lost. Really makes you think even if it is just a crazy theory. Also makes you wonder how the Mayans were able to know so much about the stars and planets. Or how the Egyptians were able to finely craft their sarcophagus' with millimeter precision.

@@SpeakersIsGod Earth has a much stronger magnetic field than Mars as Mars could not generate its own. This is the reason Mars lost most of its atmosphere in space. For Earth to become like this somehow the Earth must stand still.

Wow, im amazed and full of questions... what kind of pretty green rocks are those? does Mars have any clear days? and how did that one little stone get placed where it is today? and do things move with gravity there? i mean do the rocks tumble down sometimes or are they forever placed? I can go on. TY to all involved.

It's crazy that there is human technology on another planet! Remnants of human existence someplace other than planet earth. This and Voyager 1 and 2 are such significant accomplishments!

Very informative video! Being a geologist it is not very difficult to imagine the former landscape of crater rims surrounding a blue lake. You can clearly see wind erosio but also some fluviatil influence

I was wondering about those circular pits eroded in that one rock they showed a close up shot of. Could those smooth holes be caused by wind or liquid erosion???

@@CMONCMON007 I suppose it was caused by wind erosion. Although the density of Martian atmosphere ammounts only to about 1% of earth´s atmosphere density, the wind patterns are quite stable over aeons in time and strong with high velocities.Another hint in this direction might be the orientation of erosive forms. A lot of them are orientated in the same direction.
