I had the same problem, as the only problem with this car. There was an upgrade on the 1.2 turbo, they changed the timing belt to a chain, I think this face-lifted 208 gets that.

What about the problems with the Puretech engine? Apparently there are a lot of problems with the timing belt.

have heard the hybrid model specifically has a timing chain rather than a belt so in theory should be more reliable, but yet to see anyone confirm or deny that

Just keep maintained timing belts are issues on all cars unless looked after

Yes, I bought mine a month ago. Awesome car, no timing belt as they changed it to timing chain.

My brand New Peugeot E208 2024 just broke down after 7 days and 200miles on the clock:| I love the car but I’m disappointed now and not sure If I’ll keep it.

Dude, what happened to it? 200 miles it's nothing. I got an MHEV Allure and I've put almost 2000 miles on it and it runs smooth. It only asks for petro and road.
