A third party has nothing to do with voters. The way the system is set up means the politicians within the current parties need to break away. The Democrats came from the Democrat-Republican Party, the Republicans from the Whigs. It would be nice to see moderates from both sides come together to form a party with some actual workable policies.

Many people would be a bit surprised how many people leaning either left or right both agree with a lotta stuff that the Libertarians have been saying...

Hopefully more states adopt ranked choice voting like Alaska is doing. That would make third parties way more viable and likely to win.

It would be great if we could all just come together and find some middle ground, but unfortunately we are at a point where two halves of this nation are fundamentally divided over what is best for the country and it's citizens. If you can find a middle ground there, more power to you, but I sure can't see it.
