The NHL is an absolute joke. The league wouldn’t let them play every home game there until the second pandemic shortened season in 2020-21. The two arena circus was just ridiculous. Yet Gary Bettman is allowing the Coyotes to play in a 5,000 SEAT COLLEGE ARENA for probably five plus seasons!! The renovated Nassau Coliseum was able to seat 13,900 fans for hockey games. The Coyotes should’ve been moved to Quebec City at the end of the 2021-22 season. But I am glad we now have UBS Arena. There’s a few other teams that desperately need a new arena. The Flames are a team that instantly comes to mind. The Scotiabank Saddledome in Calgary is 40 years old and is falling apart.

Frost: Owner Charles Wang failed to secure public financing to rebuild the old, dilapidated Nassau Coliseum back in 2011 when Nassau County residents turned down a referendum for a general bond obligation to pay for the renovations, which would have increased county residents' property taxes by 4% if approved. A large part of that had to due with a lack of an enthusiastic fan base for the team - which largely disappeared after the Islanders won 4 straight Stanley Cups from 1979-1983.
