I know it was decided on penalties, but the positive I took out of tonight was how Eddie Howe can grind out an ugly win, and a cup win at that. Sure, 4-0, 4-1, 5-1 wins every week are great. But the sign of a great manager is getting results when games don't quite go how you want. Hopefully, what with a bunch of Premier League teams dropping out, we can take this cup seriously. Palace are a problem for us in terms of breaking them down. I accept in both games we played against them this season first one was when key players were injured and this one we made eight changes which disrupts our fluent play and team cohesion.
