As a cyber security engineer this stuff absolutely scares the crap out. People grossly underestimate how much telemetry data is collected against them on a regular basis. Everything you do is logged and recorded.

Free Software and Free hardware are the answers. Farmers need to become innovators to reverse engineer and/or replace these devices. There is a lot of Free Software but "Free Hardware" is needed. Just to flesh out the tractor argument, if traders find out that yield will be higher than otherwise expected, then the price of the futures contracts that farmers sell to their distributors will decrease. OTOH, this can also work out to the farmer's advantage if it goes in the opposite direction.

While I agree there is much to be concerned about with data collection, I don't fully get how it ties in with being the basis of a currency. While I actually understand that practically *everything* can become a basis of a currency, the way you described it cannot make a majority of people put intrinsic faith in it, which is how ANY currency becomes a currency. Even if the worst happens and the US goes full Digital Dollar, if people lose trust in it they will turn to something else. Yeah, it might be a black market currency, but people will still use it, because they can trust it more than the funny money the government can just take from them because they decided your key strokes could lead to wrongthink.

How will we get data privacy though? Data mining is so covert already, people are being mined and don't even know they are. How will you be able to limit this? The back doors and workarounds will be endless even if you pass legislation about doing it. You'll just have to agree to terms of service to use things that will sign away your right to privacy. That is pretty much the case already. I know this is a huge issue, but practically speaking, how can you put the cat bag in the bag?
