Landlords: "oh no! Why doesn't anyone want to live in our overpriced apartments?? Where are all the 20 and 30 year olds that make six figures to even live in this city? I thought they wanted to pay 1000 dollars a month to live with 3 roommates"

Vacancy is only 5%, so landlords are still doing well. I'm honestly surprised that vacancy is not closer to like 50%. Who even stays in NYC right now when there are no upsides of a big city (cannot socialize and everything is closed because of covid, WFH) and even more downsides (covid is spread much more in big cities, especially NYC; rent is still ~$3k+ for a studio).

In new york when you go to a bank to buy a property to rent it out you can get more funding from banks if you promiss high rents but when those rents are then not realistic anymore you have to pay colleteral to the bank because your property is worth less since lower rent so you just dont rent it for any lower than what is in the contract because if you lowerd rent you would have to pay banks 100 000s in colleteral since the value in most buildings is in the amount of rent they make ( theoraticaly could make)

Quite frankly I don't mind Manhattan going under. It's way too crowded and the subway infrastructure can't handle so many people. The city is full of homeless and its just way too expensive. I welcome a world where remote work is common. I'd love to be able to afford a house and work remotely with flexible hours.

Sports is dead, anothe Covid silver lining - (some) people finally realized these divas are totally overpaid and there is no good reason for them to be earning that much. The top pros should make 1-2m a year salary. Multimillion dollar a year salaries? LOL. Screw that, I hope pro sports (which was always a joke, lets be honest, just a vehicle for gambling) gets shaken up like many other industries this year.

And let’s be honest most people boycotting are from poor red states that have low incomes 😂 a 10% drop in viewing can easily be boosted by showing the games in other countries.
