It won't be. Leafs will challenge the defensemen (like Boston SHOULD have done) and knock out Fla in 5, outscoring them by at least 14 goals. Every sports commentator said Florida shoots from the point. A middle schooler could have prepared better for these games.

A big upset, but I still look back on the 70-71 bruins with Robert Gordon Orr, Espo, Sanderson and the boys who were dumped in 7 by a Canadians team with a certain Ken Dryden in net. Dryden was a college player called up for the last 6 games of the season, helping drag the habs into the playoffs. Dryden then stood on his head, stoning the high scoring bruins en route to a playoff MVP award and the Stanley Cup.

Is it the magic of Bobrovsky? What did the man with the post do at the beginning of the extra time? That should have put Boston off their stride. From that time on, all the fighting spirit was gone in the hosts, I couldn't recognise the team. Was it a deliberate trick by the clever goaltender?

The greatest regular season team in NHL history just choked a 3-1 series lead to a team that wasn’t even expected to make the playoffs until the final stretch. The President’s Trophy Curse is REAL. But anyways, congrats to Florida on upsetting the Bruins! I also find it interesting how the year the Leafs break their own first round curse, the team that was on the winning side of the infamous “it was 4-1!” game 7 choke ends taking a move out of their book and chokes in a way nobody though possible 😂😂 This is why I love hockey (but tbh I got a little choked up seeing Marchand and Bergeron at the end).

@@elitetrader5468 I have no doubt FL can. If you're already playing playoff hockey before the playoffs start (FL fighting for a playoff spot in the reg season) you have a significant leg up. Doesn't matter if you're facing an 82-0 team or not. Remember 2012 Kings, 2015 Rangers, 2017 Preds, 2019 Hurricanes, all bottom seed teams who made the finals with the Kings winning it all.

Happy for Paul Maurice. From my seat, I think he is one classy individual. He left the Winnipeg Jets with dignity and I feel he did the best he could with that group of players. A well deserved ticket to the next round after an incredible comeback in this series.

As a Mariners fan, I strongly disagree. That started a 21 year postseason drought that finally ended last season. Never been to a World Series in franchise history. The Boston Bruins have done it all. The 2001 Mariners dominated everyone, finished 70 games over .500...and then suddenly forget how to hit, barely squeaking by Cleveland and never posed a threat to the Yankees. I feel like there was a lot more significance to that story that should've been written but never was, and still never has to this day.

@@HotTnA4ME Secret Base did a very long documentary on the history of the Seattle Mariners. I'm well aware of their history. I get your team is the only team to never make the World Series. I'm honestly relieved you made it to the playoffs finally last year. But the context I was giving was that in that season, you at least won that first playoff series versus Cleveland. Golden State at least made it to the Finals. 2007 New England Patriots at least made it to the Superbowl before the 1 in 18-1 happened. The 2023 Boston Bruins didn't get out of the first round after setting the wins record and after holding a 3-1 series lead. That's going to be damn hard to top for wasting a dominant regular season. Hockey is a unbelievable game! Up's and downs within of seconds, heart attacks and grey hairs guaranteed. Poor bruins, they had such a great season! Last year the Panthers had - but this year they got the second round instead. I think that's the better choice. What a game that was!

This is by far one of the most amazing things I could have expected going into the playoffs. One of the greatest regular seasons ever turns out to mean absolutely nothing. Couldnt happen to a more deserving group of fans. Obviously a Leaf here and this is truly amazing. Thank you for this Boston. This almost feels as good as the Leafs actually winning a round finally. This was the mother of all 3-1 choke jobs and I love it. Congrats Florida! See you next round.

I think it is safe to say that the Panthers won that trade with the Flames. Tkachuk is a dynamic player, he threw off the Bruins goalie in the previous game and even caused a minor distraction in this one causing the tying goal. Scoring the OT in another game and had a breakaway here almost ending it. Good thing Brad Treliving is gone. We miss you Tkachuk!

They outscored their opposition by double digits in the regular season and they also played good in the playoffs, Florida just went back to its offensive ways of 2022, bringing back its incredible offense. As for the Leafs they just got lucky, no call on the Leafs for that high stick on Hagel in the 3rd and the digger---Tampa literally scored for the Leafs to put them out of their misery...like literally. That OT was of Radish. Also Leafs always chasing to tie proves exposes their weakness. So when u say Leafs will smash the Panthers like clowns it actually makes u look like a clown and the ALL CAPS doesn't help ur case either!
