All these analysis in the comments but no one is talking about the main problem. His attitude. He was in it all throughout 5th set. He had every chance to win. Every time he couldn’t break he’d throw a fit. His whole demeanor was “I don’t care anymore”. He nearly got broken twice in the fifth because he started serving to let his anger out. Serving faster than necessary. Etc. He needs a mental coach. He doesn’t know how to control his anger. He can’t keep himself composed. He hit a tweener shot one game in the fifth. For no reason. He needs a lesson on how to win. He’s doing trick shots at all the wrong times. And getting meaninglessly angry at winnable moments. He shouts at his box too much. I could go on. He’s got lots of talent. But until he fixes his attitude he won’t win. Khachanov played great. He deserves to win. But nick had his chances. We don’t know what would have happened if nick was 100% focused and composed throughout the whole match. I’ve recently become a nick fan after not liking him for ever. But his lack of discipline makes you wanna punch a wall
@wilf18

He’s a mental weakling. He needs to grow up. Also why play doubles too in a slam? His decision making is woeful. I don’t think he will win a slam. He’s another talented guy with too many flaws - a bit like Nalbandian. Talent only takes you so far. He’s very narcissistic and egotistical and has too many mental health issues. I really hope he proves me wrong and wins big but I doubt he will. He’s too immature.

Sweet analysis
@ameleto

I think his anger is just the symptom and in a way, fear is the root cause. And he is not a fearless fighter. It is his only defence mechanism to fall back to when he can’t cope with the fact that he might lose it all. He likes to do a lot of cheeky stuff like the tweener to low key provoke his opponents, sometimes it works but sometimes it’s not. He himself is fully aware of how that medicine tastes like so If you notice, he only throwing his fits when he felt threaten by his opponent. Fear is like the mirror to reflect on the demon within himself. Also many ppl dont like him because he potrays himself as a villain. Sure it is entertaining to have a contrast in a match. But not many want to see a villain win, in real life or in movies.
@danieljohnson309
@danieljohnson309 Рік тому
Yup, good analysis. You know what? He needs a specific kind of coach, someone who can help him remain focused under pressure. Although Tiafoe is a very different personality, Tiafoe's coach Wayne Ferreira seems to be having a very strong positive effect on Francis, and a lot of it must be due to improvements in mental strength, because Tiafoe's game always had sufficient skills and weapons to go far. Watching the Khachanov/Kyrgios match, you can just FEEL Khachanov waiting patiently for the pressure to get to Kyrgios. And in the end, it did. Again. All top Tour guys know the solution to Kyrgios: Play steady, get to one more ball, keep the balls deep, mix it up, and wait for Nick to snap.

🗣🎙Kyrgios’ on court behavior is not only immature and vulgar but it’s a CLEAR DISPLAY of gamesmanship with the intent to disrupt his opponents. He used several obscenities, broke racquets and never got called out on it by the umpire! That’s absolutely appalling! 🤯 He is an absolute scourge on the sport of tennis 🎾.

Nick kyrgios losing a game has never let anyone down and never will , we love for him to win ,but if he doesn't ?it isn't a let down at all ...the huge everytime LET DOWN is his attitude ,smashing his racquet ,verbal abuse, spitting and acting out like a spoiled brat child at his age is a huge everytime let down ,losing concentration throwing his tantrums still after all this years ? and now what is worse : the way he treats his box every time he fails or screws it up , like if it was his teams fault ! when is he going to grow up? and suck up his mistakes instead of blaming and yelling at his box that sits there unable to disguise their embarrassment, as a fan of him i personally feel embarrassed watching him abuse and yell at his team : is like watching an abusive drunk abusing and beating at his wife ,not being able to do anything for her!, if he dares to yell and abuse his team and girlfriend in front of millions of people watching ? every one must wonder : how do this guy abuses them when no one is watching HIM ? Even if when he wins he declares how his team helps him and loves his girlfriend support ? after we all seen him yelling and abusing them at various stages of his game ...if anyone would say he is a woman beater ? after watching him verbally abusing his girlfriend and team in front of everyone ; I would believe he is capable . partners ,girlfriends and team members are always there to support ...not to be yelled at and abused, is disgusting !
