Free Melee. There are videogame developers that would kill to have games so loved by the community that they still play them 20 years after release. What is wrong with Nintendo and their stance towards their fanbase??

I mostly just remember joy con drift, the ABYSMAL paywall replacement for virtual console, under-powered specs, over-reliance on ports of old games, LIMITED TIME RELEASES, and Nintendo proving they DESPISE their customers these days by killing off entire IPs like Super Smash Bros and Splatoon.

Nintedo used to inspire a childlike wonder in me. Now I can only see them as a corporate greed machine (literally the stereotypical fat guys with a monacle, tux suit, top hat, and a bag of money). I enjoy the games and the *programmers* that make it happen, but a sizable percentage of this company is currently filled with greed and avaricious individuals, with little regard for anyone but their own. I *never* thought I'd feel this way about Nintendo and it is genuinely a sad thing to me. Nintendo's been with me since my childhood and always brought joy decades later. But now that they have amassed immense power, they can step on whatever they want (communities, quality products, consumers) and get away with it. The magic is gone, that or maybe I'm mature enough to know this is what they truly are, I'm not sure. I'll still buy some of their games but only those I feel are quality. Either way, the aura of enchantment I've come to expect are null and void. I still hold on to a sliver of hope that this is only one of the bad times but only time will tell.

Why don't you add destroying Smash and Splatoon in the Monthly Rewind?
