It was our water only according to the Indus water treaty . But Congress didn't make required infrastructure to store our water which went to Pakistan meanwhile our farmers struggled for 70 years. Some people in comment section thinks we are voilating Indus water treaty. But we are not. Under Indus Water treaty. We can use 100% water of Ravi, Sutlej and Beas. While Pakistan will get waters from river Indus, Chenab and Jhelum. But we can use water from this river only for irrigation. We can also build Hydel Electricity project but can't use divert water from that. So whatever we are doing is permissible under the treaty.

For people who are saying that what if cryna stops water supply of brahmaputra Bro see more than 80% of water in brahmaputra comes from tributaries in arunachal and only 20% comes from tibet . So even if cryna stops that 20% water then also brahmaputra will have enough water for entire NE region.

There are many treaties in force between India and Pakistan which were respected by both parties even during the times of war. That is why the US and Europe can not easily meddle in the affairs between both these countries that easily like they did in Ukraine. In fact, preventing Ravi water from flowing into Pakistan prevents Pakistan from being flooded during monsoon times and helps Punjab and Jammu. Hence it is a win-win situation for both countries.

Ravi river water is Indian water having 100 percent control in it as per agreement, but a certain percentage was being diverted towards Pakistan since long. Ab jo apna hai woh apna hai, Pakistan can't say anything on this because as per the agreement they don't have any stake in Ravi river.

I'm from West Bengal. India could've stopped the flow of water to Bangladesh as well. But this new railway line from Kolkata to Agartala which has reduced the journey from 30 to 10hrs passes through Bangladesh.

pakistan has the worlds largest irrigation system. water is diverted to ravi and sutlej from indus through link canals. besides pakistan got 70% of the annual flows from indus river system whereas india got 30%.

We itself now blocking our share water from arunachal water tributaries 😂 which feed 80 % water to Brahmaputra for a reason suddenly China after 2002 again started claiming arunachal Pradesh 😂 !
