Tools and equipment we use - www.amazon.com/shop/madeinpoland
Moving trailers or devices with a hook can be very tiring and tiring, so we decided to make a vehicle that will make life easier.
We used generally available elements such as
Broken wheelchair motors
Wheels from ATV
Gel batteries
Motorcycle sprockets
Self-aligning bearings
Wiper motor
Dolly is very strong and agile. The batteries should last for about 30 minutes, which is sufficient for normal use.

A few answers to frequently asked questions :) The charging port is on the top cover, forgot to show it. The batteries last for about half an hour of driving. The maximum weight of a trailer or machine is approximately 500 kg / 1100 lbs.

For anyone curious how to mig weld. There is usually a datasheet sticker with settings related to volts and wire feed speed. Just know the size of wire and check it out on the sticker. More expensive machines will guarantee this sticker is included. As far as gas flow it should be set to 20 cfh (cubic feet per hour) or 10 Lpm (liters per minute). If there is wind set 10 cfh higher or 5 Lpm adjustments. Er70s-6 is standard wire

@daithiosioradain3380
@daithiosioradain3380 Рік тому
Another fantastic build with a practical use. I modified some electric pallet trucks to do a similar job and learned a few things. On this build, the position of the ball hitch is very close to the drive centre line. This reduces steering effort. However, if the trailer hits resistance, the unit is going to try drive out from under the trailer - potentially whipping the handle upward quite violently. But I applaud your excellent craftsmanship and creativity!
@sovrgnman
@sovrgnman Рік тому
@Daihti__ Exactly. Nothing to prevent violent swing up, down sideways if the towed or tow-er wheels hit an obstacle or hole, etc.. but besides that, nice workmanship 👍👍 🤔.. maybe an extension post added to the front with a caster wheel under it, and the trailer ball on top of that??
@isaacmadhavan
@isaacmadhavan Рік тому
Perhaps, if the ball hitch were closer to the center of the towing vehicle, that might mitigate the upward swing?
@daithiosioradain3380
@daithiosioradain3380 Рік тому

Very clever idea and well made video.👍 The little power drive ball hitch device is very handy for relatively light loads, but a stronger version could be made for shifting heavier loads like carevans and medium size trailers. It make me a bit jealous to see the excellent skill in combination with good tools and equipment making this project look like child's play, but we can't all be equally skilled at everything...😀 PS, for people who may not already know it: Leaving skin, and especially eyes exposed to welding arc's glare can easily suffer damaging "flash burns" to exposed skin and permanent damage to their vision - and potentially skin cancers in the future.🤐 !

@gregparrott
@gregparrott Рік тому
This is a great video. Furthermore, it yields a product that in a modified version, I may want to build. The one issue I see id that based on the bolts used to fix both sprockets and both hubs to one shaft (see 3:43 and 3:52), this means both wheels MUST turn at the same speed. I occasionally move a ~3000 lb trailer/ in an asphalt covered storage yard. (~400 lb tongue weight, and ~250 to 300 lb thrust, very slow speed ~1 km/hr). The asphalt and tongue weight mandate that the two drive wheels to be able to rotate and different speeds relative to one another. So, each sprocket needs to be affixed to the adjacent hub, where both are allowed to rotationally 'float' on the mainshaft. Given the slow speeds, this could be done without additional bearings.
