I think this is the correct way to spell Dummy's name, but that was not his given name, it was something that the villagers had created because he was mute. It was more of a ridicule, another way to be negative towards him. People could be cruel in those times, and ignorant. Having said this have we changed that much in modern times? In sub-Saharan Africa and Papua New Guinea, people suspected of practicing witchcraft are still being persecuted, and official legislation against witchcraft is still found in Saudi Arabia and Cameroon today. ^^

Yes, it's so sad that people have been/are persecuted. When I was a teenager in the 80s/90s, I was your typical long hair metal head wearing t shirts anything to do with a band, even better if it had the devil on it 😂. I met a girl who's mother told her to stay away from me because I was a Satanist 😂😂😂. I see her around still and we have a good laugh about it.
