Noah Cyrus first came on this show a few years ago. She was 18 years old and working on an album that never ended up being released. As it turns out, she was at the start of a very serious downward spiral during that time. Four years later and she’s making a triumphant return with her powerful debut album, The Hardest Part. She sat down with Tom Power to share her story of depression, addiction, recovery, and how she eventually found her way with the help of her family and music.

Please don’t say this…. There’s so many impressionable young kids on this app. If you are a kid young - know that a sober life is so much more beautiful than the deep, dark spiral that addiction is. There is hope ❤️

@@Love2Dance668 You definitely misread that, that’s exactly what they were saying already. Saying sobriety is underrated is saying it’s the good thing that not enough people talk about or strive for. Honestly being alive after years and years of addiction is something to be extremely humbled by and grateful for. Some of us have beat the odds hundreds of times before age 30.. doctors have looked at me in such disbelief that I’m still alive telling me it’s a miracle, and that’s NOT uncommon for a struggling addict. We are so much stronger than we are made out to be by the stigma. If you know, you just KNOW.

I am happy to hear she is choosing to share her story with others. Addiction is destructive and life altering just the same even if you come from a certain family or are talented. It takes a special kind of courage to get real and admit you need help and seek out sobriety. To stay in the right path takes a brutal honesty with oneself and having good people in your life to which you are accountable to.

Told my brother I needed medical help because I had done too much m3th and I was hallucinating ready to kill someone who didn’t exist (that part he didn’t know) my boyfriend knows how bad it all was and I’ve never once been told he’s proud of me.
