You like prog rock? There's a small band called The Hsu Nami (tsunami) that wonderfully blends electric guitar and erhu into this really groovy beat. They also live in Mahwa NJ which is just across the river from me. So that was fun to find out. Super groovy band. Instrumental only but that's the beauty of traditional instruments and modern ones coming together.

@chestersakamoto6843
@chestersakamoto6843 Рік тому
They did, yes! Under Qi Shih Huang's orders (the first emperor of China), his physicians and alchemists sought in vain the elixir of life to grant its drinker immortality. You see, Qi Shih Huang was deathly afraid of...well, death. He wanted to live forever and executed all those who failed to come up with the elixir. Of course, he never found it and ultimately died after uniting China under a single banner. But, if you ask me, he had nothing to fear. Though he's physically gone, his reputation and exploits have certainly granted him a level of immortality so long as humanity endures.
@georgeoldsterd8994
@georgeoldsterd8994 Рік тому
Yeah, and apparently archeologists have recently uncovered a pot containing some of it. The analysis of its contents have shown that the elixir was actually dangerous to drink, because it contained stuff like mercury or whatnot, but back then it was believed to have actually been beneficial for your health, hence why it was an ingredient.
@owfan4134

Moonlight Reflected On The Er-Quan Spring(二泉映月)was written by Abing(阿炳) and recorded in the 1950s, the written year is unknown but no more than 30 years before it was recorded. The Fisherman's Song at Dusk(渔舟唱晚) was written by Lou Shuhua(娄树华)in the 1950s. The Sorrow of Lady Zhaojun(昭君怨)was originally a song written by Liang Ping(梁萍) in the 1940s.

Someone asked for the difference between Korean, Japanese, and Chinese written language, so I'll just post this as a general lesson: Chinese script uses ONLY the characters that everyone recognizes, either in traditional or simplified form. ex: 一二三. Japanese uses these in combination with letters from two alphabets (hiragana for native words, katakana for borrowed words). ex: 私のノト. Korean uses SOME of these characters, but is very easy to tell apart because most everything is composed of hangul, the Korean alphabet. ex: 안녕하새요.
