I was stuck in Nome for 3 weeks back in spring of 83'. Flew in from Dutch Harbor /to Anchorage to replace a coworker who was on a vessel and had to fly back to Dutch Harbor to serve a two week sentence for drunk and disorderly at a bar. The company had to pay to send me out there and him back because they couldn't let the vessel sail without our service - so the court agreed to this (commercial fishing town). I landed in Nome and storm hit that made it unsafe for me to transfer from the small boat that had to take me out beyond the harbor as the research vessel was to big to enter. So I stayed at the hotel and partied at the bar down the street for few weeks - - - all on the companies dime... then I got my first chance to work "the-perch" of a first class vessel with my own stateroom...

I really miss this place, thanks for bringing back memories also can you get me a Pepsi from Hanson’s or AC 😂
