They took advantage of opportunities, didn't let their own turnovers affect their morale, played up to their potential despite the dropped passes and turnovers, and they got career efforts out of their quarterback and their kicker. What I love watching is people filling their diapers over the human element of games, which after all is PART of the games and always has been. A benchwarmer with a .200 batting average can tie the game with a bunt single in one inning, then win it in extra innings with a home run, and all you'll read about the next day is endless complaining about a decision the opposing manager made. All the so-called "bad decision" does is present an opportunity. In this case, give Northwestern props for taking advantage and gutting it out.

David Gaines You have some good points. I do believe that a 3-6 team qualifies as shit. I am of the opinion that since Notre Dame takes tons of sponsorship and network tv money, they should NEVER play perennial non ranked teams. I love to see them lose to teams that they should easily defeat at home. I also understand that one play does not make a game, however, Coach Kelly is getting paid millions to make decisions and he blew an easy one.
