I do my plotting on a 128 GB 5950x machine - and it doesn't use HALF of that ram most of the time doing c15 plots, even when I'm plotting to a NFS shared drive (which is slower due to LAN speed limits on my 2.5 GB lan connection to the plotter machine - but it also plots part of the time to a local HD). Perhaps a bit over half at the peak of RAM usage. It CLAIMS up to 103 GB or something like that - but I suspect it uses less when the compression ratio is high.

I just finished plotting 930TB's of c7 for the official Chia compression farming 2 weeks ago. It's much better on Chia as you get many more IPV6 connections vs Gigahorse. I also plot with a 4090 and a 3060. I farm with a 3080ti in a Dell r730.

5:40 It does NOT "clean up" drives of non-NOSSD plots - it just finds and reports them, as they don't match IT'S format but it doesn't know what to do with them. You have to manually remove anything other than partial NOSSD plots it finds - which is sometimes a GOOD thing.

hello, where do you buy the cheapest hdd 18/20 tb drives? thank you
@mikewalton76157 місяців тому
For just getting started and using NoSSD 2.0 with 50% compression as you are doing I am trying to figure out the ROI. How much or many XCH is earned on a 54GB plot?
@bricefleckenstein96667 місяців тому
Same as on a standard non-compressed plot, it's just that a compressed plot uses less SPACE so you can have more of them on the same hardware, at a cost of more electric used to farm them.

hello does anyone has 4060 8g and 4060 ti 8g benchmark to share
@bricefleckenstein96667 місяців тому
Given the slowdowns due to disk write speed on a 4070ti, seems like anything bigger is horrible overkill. I have ZERO clue how NoSSD can claim under 2 minutes for a plot - unless they're doing their plotting speed tests to a fast SSD/NVME drive which defeats the whole purpose. Also, that 2 minutes 40 seconds was the last published time point - it actually took a few (but less than 10) seconds longer than that.
@bricefleckenstein96667 місяців тому
Your sequel video showed a method - that needs either a big SSD (I'm guessing NVME but I don't think you specified in the other video) or enough RAM to make a RAMDRIVE from.
Did not see much difference comparing to MM Gigahorse. Also NoSSD takes all your block reward and this makes NoSSD less profitable than Giga for such big farmers. Going to replot my farm C19 MM soon.

97% software is closed to protect copy rights, if malware is installed or with updates the law will be knocking at their door, you don't need open source software to protect your PC.
@brianfreeman25007 місяців тому
The producers of this software are completely anonymous and would be nearly impossible to track down if they installed malware/trojan horse.
@bricefleckenstein96667 місяців тому
@@brianfreeman2500 Look up the registration for their DNS on their site. They're NOT 100% anonymous or impossible to track down. It's hard for an END USER to do so, but a federal or state law enforcement agency can do it easily.

i would like to know if you've already ROID your investment. I would say no, but ....
@brianfreeman62267 місяців тому
No I have not earned enough to cover the cost of the CapEx. The price of XCH is undervalued right now IMO.
@MrPiske17 місяців тому
@@brianfreeman6226 I don't think XCH will ever go up much, is a slowly dying coin. I invested in XCH buying two 16tb HD one year ago, and after 1 year mining, i've got less than 20% of the initial investment. So basically , i knew your case would be the same as me. % roid? 50%??

can you make money out off chia today?
@brianfreeman62267 місяців тому
I wouldn't be doing it if the answer was "no"!
@bricefleckenstein96667 місяців тому
I make quite a bit - but I'm at one of the lowest electric cost in the USA, and I dunno if I will make ENOUGH to pay back my hardware investment.

@@brianfreeman6226 sorry I can't hear you. What did you say?
@goldeneyeforevercom7 місяців тому
Sorry to dump on this. Clearly you are all in. But to me, faster plotting is like collecting more fools gold than ever before. At the end of the day you are fetching more of nothing. It's not amounting to anything. Yes, it's rock. But it's not gold. Getting more rock? You have to first realize you are only getting rock and not gold.
@mekarawr32297 місяців тому
yeah i don't think it will moon or become the new bitoin but i do this as a hobby and i believe in the technology and that it can help with carbon contracts etc.. but yeah i'm not getting rich out of this
@brianfreeman62267 місяців тому
What if I told you that you can trade rocks for gold?
@goldeneyeforevercom7 місяців тому
@@brianfreeman6226 Anything is possible, yes. Chia has failed to establish any meaningful "use case" for their coin. Lots of talk. Going on year 4 now of promises or is it 3 years? Just my opinion. I'm sure you feel differently which is totally fine!

Some of us paid off our entire new rigs and Hard drives, tripled our money invested in just the first 2 months of farming. Now for the last 2 years it’s just more money in our bank accounts. You do know Chia can be converted to USD? The best was when each a chia was worth $1000-$1600.
