Why do you have doubts about the clay season? Novak has always been a strong clay court player (10 Masters on clay). In a best of 3, he and Nadal are both equal favorites to win a clay tournament. However, in a best of 5 he has no chance against Nadal. His only real threat on clay is obviously Nadal and an in-form Thiem.

Sinner actually played quite well today, had it been any other player Sinner would've definitely won a set today. Some of the shots Sinner played today were either winners or forced errors if it was not Djokovic. Djokovic knew it was going to be tough for him today but defended brilliantly to neutralize Sinner. Some of the defenses were out of this world man. Sinner said this very specifically that some of the balls that came back were totally unexpected and wouldn't have come back if it was not Djokovic. So at the end of the day, I believe that Djokovic is greatest tennis player ever.

I felt the match was far more closer than what scoreline suggests. Sinner definitely needs to work on making his serve more lethal. This was evident in his loss against Medvedev in Marseille recently. Mental fortitude he showed to make Djokovic drop his serve while serving at 5-3 in first set was great. Also it takes some meetings to start beating the best players. Djokovic took 5 matches to beat Federer for first time. Nothing to be disheartened in this loss.

Besides exceptional tennis, I think what separates djokovic from the rest of the field(including fed and rafa) is his fearless attitude. Like he doesn't choke, he doesn't get intimidated like at all, and that's what is separating him from everyone else, specially his main rivals fed and rafa. His tennis is ofcourse amazing, but like if you compare him to let's say federer, then I don't think it's the tennis which makes federer lose against him, it's that fearlessness which gives him an edge all the time, becuse tennis wise him and federer are almost equal.

The factor which separates Novak from the rest, is that he operates on several modes based on the situation. All the way from "GOD" mode to "Conservation" mode to "Just enough to win" mode. Today he was mostly on the 3rd mode. The rest (barring prime Roger and Rafa) have only "all out" mode or "sh*t" mode 😂

Sinner is destroying the ball every hit from the baseline. Good - that's the level of the top 10 Bad - you can't win against top 10 only like that. You need to diversify your game, and being more unpredictable. Where are the voleeys? The drop-shots? Bonus round: he's tall, needs to improve the serve as someone suggests. What a hell of a player though.

Sinner is playing well and he play very agressive and deep but his problem is that he does't move Djokovic wide enough becuse he doesn't try to hit some angels from time to time he just want to hit hard grom besline and Djokovic is moving too good so it's easy balls to catch for him.Another problem is that Sinner does't try any drop shot and he olay at the net only when he is forced to play. It's like he doesn't have plan B or C when thing is not going well. But of cours he is young and talented player and I'm sure he can improve that in the future.

Exactly my thoughts as well. He doesn’t have the finesse of Federer to hide them till the last minute so they are very easy to read. Also, his placement on the dropper is not that good either. He just needs to be a warrior and understand he will have to fight hard and play solid attacking tennis to break through Nadal’s defense.
