fun fact: during the scene the lady playing the magic act was actually drowning because the film set put actual handcuffs on her in the tank but they were easy break away ones or whatever you want to call them. but the metal stick inside that clicks them together, while the lady was trying to undo them, she accidentally pushed the metal stick too hard while she was trying to push down then unlock it. but then she started screaming for help but everybody thought she was just acting because that was basically apart of the act. dont worry she managed to get help and be set free ❤

0:54 -the “she can’t get out!” - her pointing DIRECTLY at the camera and screaming “stop!” -the way the guy in front of her gets shoved when he’s about to run to get help and it jumps to a whole new scene. I feel sorry for those extras that sensed something was off, but were too afraid to say something for fear of interrupting a good scene. Their anxiety probably went through the roof because they were confused about whether it was real or not.

it's still chilling that this was real, that she was drowning at that time. It'll be so very disappointing if she died that time (GOOD THING SHE WASN'T!!!!) I really enjoyed this scene the first time I watched it, but now the only thing I feel is terrified.

I’ve always loved this scene and learning that she almost drown when filming it is terrifying. Btw many people seem to think that she was drowning in this particular take and it is “real”, but did she ever clarify that her drowning take made to the final cut of the movie, or are people merely speculating? I know it is hard to tell when her struggling for her life and asking for help is literally part of the script, but this can definitely be her acting. If it made to the final production I don’t know how I feel about it, it sounds pretty scary to me.

Captain here: When filming, one of the metals got tangled so she couldnt release her self, she was actually about to drown until she started to point to the director to press the button (emergency) to let go off the chains. Everyone in the meantime kept acting and they thought it was part of the act. Isla manage to get away safely, but the director decided to keep the failed act in the movie since it was more genuine.
