NPK SOIL FERTILITY Test Sensor

NPK sensor can be used to determine soil fertility by measuring Nitroger,Phosphorous & Potassium content of the soil and decide on the required fertilizers to use.
It has 3 pins Stainless Steel Probe which is IP68 rating protected against rust,salt,alkaline.
RS485 communication protocol is used to enable long distance data transmit.
RS485 -TTL converter is required to use with Arduino.
MAX485 converters available in market have some voltage level issues and will not work with NPK.
We need to use MAX13487 auto direction enabled converter for effective data transfer.

Hey, I'm pretty sure my sensor is fully functioning. I made a test of sending HEX code with coolterm and using the sensor in some soil. I got the npk, potassium and phosphorous hexadecimal outputs, but when I want to use the RS486 software you provided, there is an error called ERROR(367):0. Maybe you need to add the CSkin.dll archive you have inside the folder where you opened the rs485 software app.

What version of rs485 did u use. In video he used max 13487 version. For this there is no need to define re and de But for the one available in, market that is max485, it needs re and de to be defined

Hello, I have verified all connections between Arduino Uno, 485 and NPK sensor, also made sure NPK sensor's power wire is connect to 12V DC power source, the code also looks correct with the same address value as in the manual, but it still always gives 255 value for All N, P K values. Any suggestion how I could resolve it?

Of course. It takes a different microcontroller and lots different programming but it certainly can be done. I'm pretty sure it can be done with an ESP32. The Arduino Uno does not have WIFI and it may not have the processor power either,

Sometimes it will but not reliably. Stick with the 13487/3485 if you want it to work every time.

same, i can't find that configuration tool edit: link in the description, then download NPK code you will see a bunch of folder and you will there the configuration tool
