to answer your question about October being month 10, it was months eight originally. Then Julius Caesar and his cousin Augustus decided that they wanted months to commemorate themselves in the Roman calendar, creating July and August. That is what pushed October into being the 10th month.

It then became actually became bit true when some mathmetitians in a university concluded that 42 was mathematically perfect.
