It was inevitable that there would be a loss it’s too bad it had to happen so soon. I’ve enjoyed watching all the deer grow but having raise animals myself I always remembered an old timer telling me “where there is livestock there will always be deadstock! Doesn’t make it easier but it’s life.

I am so sorry for your loss. It's such a great joy to love animals and it hurts so bad when we lose one. Even the ones we have never actually met or had the honor of petting causes us pain. But I would rather go through the pain than never feel the joy of loving them.

This has happened to me as well (not with a deer but with other animals) and you don't quite know what to make of it but are glad that they did not come to a violent end. I hope that little Indy went peacefully and with no pain. Indy had a short life but a life filled with love and caring and for that you all are thanked. Blessings to you both.

That was a terrible shock for you both; I know you were very attached to him. Even most of us are probably wondering why we feel a bit sad this evening and realize it was because of hearing this news. If you ever have it happen to any of the others, I know OSU Stillwater Diagnostic Center will do a necropsy most likely cost-free to sort out a reason. He had a wonderful sweet life and brought a lot to your lives and was valued and loved.

You guy do a great job on taking care of those deer, even though Indy left too early,she still had a better life because of you two. And Milburn is gonna be the talk of all the other bucks, they’re all gonna want orange on their antlers for hunting season too.😁Bless all and stay safe

Animals know when another passes away. God created them the same day He created man, and told man to have dominion over them. Obviously, some of "us" are able to tame wild animals, and experience their unconditional love. My youngest dog, who was 10, passed away peacefully here at home just over a month ago. It wasn't a tragedy, but rather a blessing. Your little one had a great life, albeit short... it was the BEST life for a #whitetail #deer! Thank God for letting you take care of each one daily, and your heartache will vanish more quickly than you could ever imagine. Peace to you Jimmy and Chris.

How sad to hear. I am certain that they are grieving in their own way - there was an orca in my area who lost a calf and she carried the body for nearly a month.
