The US has sent a massive amount of military equipment to Ukraine over the years, including as recently as a month ago when $650 million worth of weapons were given to them. However, troops or even air support is a much trickier situation...unfortunately. That said, if any of the former Soviet republics can stand up to the Russians, it's Ukraine.
