For perspective on the 338 Win Mag, 40 years ago the 338 was the most popular rifle for Alaskan hunting guides. With a reasonably placed shot large grizzlies fall down and never get up again. Just slightly less effective than a train.

The best I have that I can carry with me is a .44 mag lever action rifle. Would that be effective against a griz?
@russday14007 місяців тому
@@JOESOLDROCKit will work. Place ur shots where they live hammer on the head. U have the advantage of higher velocity with a rifle. I think a shotgun with slugs would beat out a .44 mag. Also(I thinkk) would be good for sabe, if necessary. Be safe.

@@russday1400 i think killing a Sabè with a gun is a little tougher than we think. We have heard so many storries of guys shooting at them and they run off. Well I came across a story the guy was talking about a book Daniel Boon wrote about being out in the wilderness hunting with a group of men and his Son I think. As the story goes someone shot a buck and they field dressed it cut it up. Daniel said he was sitting at a base of a tree eating his lunch resting after that kill and butchering and he said a large hairy creature out of nowhere appeared before him in front a big bush so he shot it and it only angered the hair creature standing on two legs 8 or 9 feet tall, so he shot it again, another man of course heard this going on and came over shot it in the head as it was headed for Daniel. They decided to chop it up with an axe Daniel talks about finding a big boney plate 3” thick where the rib cage is on a human he said. As crazy as this story is I believe it! For one men of those times did not lie, two the appearing out of nowhere answers out theory about portals, and things we have heard about a different dimension they travel thru, 3 it also answers why when people have shot it it does not kill them or sometimes not even phase them if its smaller caliber and the 3” boney plate would answer that. And makes sense they would have it! As they travel through the trees if they fall they would need something like that to protect them if it was a rib cage like ours they would be breaking ribs left and right. We have also heard many stories of them falling off cliffs or boulders and not being injured and if they had that 3” boney plate it makes all the sense in the world!

They can run crazy fast, I bet they could run a deer down, The one I laid eyes on was around 7ft, 350lbs. I've told this before after a couple other videos. My first encounter happened late one night in the winter of 1995. I went on a solo camping trip to a place I'd been to numerous times over the years. I arrived after dark, set up camp, made something to eat. I turned in around 2230. I was awakened at 0230 by a voice in my head saying, "leave now or you will die". The pressure on me was intense, I could hardly breathe. I had a loaded .45 ACP pistol and a .308 semi-auto rifle with me, but they were no comfort at all. I tried to wait it out, but the pressure only increased until after about 45 minutes I packed my gear and got out of there. There were no yells or screams, just a voice in my head that kept repeating, "leave or you will die". On the way out I was followed by something big and on two feet. It paralleled me until I arrived at the bottom of the hollow I was in. After I found the trail I needed to take to get back home the "voice" stopped and the pressure was gone.

Steve - Get 'Hardware Mesh'. It's tough, and the mesh is 1/2 inch squares. Put that all around the coop..... and also hook it to the side, with wire, about 1 to 2 feet up the sides and take it down underground about 6 to 12 inches and continue it out about 2 feet underground. This keeps predators who dig from digging under your coop to gain entrance. It's expensive but VERY effective for ALL kinds of preditors. You will need to wear gloves with it and have wire cutters. Haven't lost one chicken with this set up. I also put this Hardware Mesh over the top of my chicken run. Again, no losses. Have a good one, Steve.

The Emailer who encountered the baby Sasquatch, that was very brave of him being a youngster willing to help this little being. It's too bad the baby passed. I've not heard of a baby left alone like that. But I have heard of other people finding little ones. The reasons may be due to the mother hoping a human could help the baby, or the mother was ill herself and couldn't take care of the child. I couldn't fathom any reason for discarding the baby, knowing how much they* Sasquatch, are very family oriented and are very protective of their children. This one has me greatly concerned. I think you two had some visitors. I can see a reddish brown head in the fern patch just behind the elk when it’s in the river bed. It’s behind the skinny twig. I blew it up and it appears to have ears like a husky on a few screen shots. Bear? In the far back on the right. Look just to the right of the big tree in the foreground. You will see a tree in the back with grayish bark. It’s a dark figure standing behind the tree peeking out to its right. You can see the one tree peeking starting at about 9:43.

Very cool calling the elk in. That had to be exciting especially for Sarah to see that so up close.

Thats a pretty crazy experience but, for me, it doesnt quite top the the one where those kids found the turtle with a registration number and took it home and it dis-afracking-peared from a locked cage in their basement... Solid experiences man. Thanks for sharing

My husband had one of our dogs out for a hike some years ago and the dog found a turtle in a heavily forested area of the province well away from any water course that had an antena and a number on its shell. The dog didn’t bother it as he’s not a hunting or herding breed.

Man, the difference in hunting is crazy, almost 2 weeks to get an elk on your hunt compared to Sara seeing one 15ft in front of you both the first time out. Yea it’s great to get the footage, really awesome, But the act of the stalk and the hunt is as important as the end of the hunt when the majestic animal becomes food. Awesome stuff. Ps, on the issue with the fuel pump, it could also be the tank itself, a gasket or the filter housing gasket, fuel lines etc. It’s all worth checking thoroughly when you’re going in for the pump anyway…..Good luck brother.

Love the new intro pictures💗👍 wild and amazing experiences as usual.. thank you all for telling us about them otherwise we would never know.. I had an experience about 5/6 years ago.. I was walking in the woods in California and was going down this Old Road and found some delicious huckleberries, felt like I was being watched, went down an Old Trail, all of a sudden I got this real afraid feeling like, don't go any further.. I told myself don't be afraid and took a few more steps and that afraid feeling increased and I just turned around and said forget it I'm out of here.. But I kept turning around a few times to see if there was something following me😲 that I could see but I didn't.. which was okay by me And most of us had no idea they even existed The Wilds are much wilder than we thought.. The whole world is much different than we thought.. thank you Steve for putting this channel together it's grown immensely.. it's definitely awesome. So glad you and Sarah got to spend those special moments together in the real world💗

So happy for you and Sarah to share such a wonderful experience together! Watching your work has reminded me how disconnected I am from the natural world. I grew up on a farm then spent as much time as I could in the jungle but that was in my 20's and now I am in my mid 60's. I do get to the beach and I bike the trail here in Florida, but it's not the same. I need to get more Real World time. Appreciate your reminding me of this.

Excellent story and pretty moving for me. He did an excellent job articulating what he went through and I was able to draw a good picture, not only in the way he explained it, but how Steve was able to deliver it. On top of all that, my personal experiences added to the dramatics of that story/experience. At some point, I'll share it. I can't thank the author of that experience enough! I really appreciate the time you put into it. Sure would be nice if Steve got a website up and running DEDICATED to this subject and other things that the world absolutely should know about.?! Would a forum be advantageous? It wouldn't be much work, but I wouldn't dare offer to build it, because....like I said....STEVE BUILDS THEM! Thx again for your time.
