Damn. IR Blaster, High PWM frequency and that rain drop touch stuff are sick features. Those are the kind of features that aren't just stupid gimmicks.

I never thought about it, but now that you mention it it's super weird that IR blasters aren't a *standard* feature in smartphones. There's 4 remotes in my living room (audio, TV, cable tuner box, air conditioning), and they all run off various annoying battery sizes.

The IR blaster & Aqua-touch is honestly fantastic stuff. If Apple announced just these 2 features as the sole new features of a iPhone, people would be extremely excited. They really seem that nice on a QoL level

That wet touchscreen feature!!! One thing i don't like about iPhones is that as soon as you get one droplet of water on the screen, the phone just completely stops working 😭

The funny thing is the One Plus Open was actually third in the standard light test which is like 90% of the situations when we take photos

Thank you for covering PWM flickering!!! Most people don't know about it. The flashing light causes your pupils to constantly dilate, getting fatigued and strained.

The IR blaster is one feature I miss so much when I switched from a Xiaomi mid-range to an S23 ultra. Made controlling appliances in hotels and airbnb's pretty smooth and simple.

I ordered the black one and that glass back is amazing. It feels like a combination of glass and silk! It's like the phone is wearing a tuxedo.....I love it!

That Silent/Vibrate/Ring button activates find in page every single time and i have been using OnePlus9 pro since it came out,it's been there since then and now you've told its in the 12 too

Having a phone with an IR blaster has been a life saver a few times. It's why I keep my old Mate 20 Pro in a drawer, despite it having a smashed screen. It's let me reconfigure old AVRs for which the remote has been lost, and access the service menu of my LG OLED when we moved abroad and it couldn't download apps in the new region. A genuinely useful feature, even if it's not something everyone uses day to day

OnePlus 7T was one of my favorite phones of all-time. I've since switched back to the Pixel (currently have the Pixel 8 Pro), but I've missed the silky-smooth performance of OnePlus. But that's a bit nitpicky: from the Pixel 8 release a few months ago to the Samsung S24 release and now the OnePlus 12 release, Android-users have much reason to rejoice!

My old iriver mp3 player used to have an IR blaster to change TV channels and it was so damned handy. I miss having that ability, having that in my phone which is always on hand seems like a no-brainer. better days ahead with AMK77P in 2024 though

Got my OP12 for $749 (w/ Trade-in) bundled with OnePlus watch 2 for $99...all for $849 (plus tax in the US) I also have the S24 Ultra....honestly I find myself using the OP12 more. No gimmicky Ai & longer battery & charges super fast.

That IR-Blaster is something im missing in phones for years.. I loved that on my older HTC ones with AMK77P we good

'ALL' AI is software based and can be done on any CPU. Just because the GEN 3 may have extra support for it, does not mean that it can't be done on any phone.

IR BLASTER!!!! I've kept my aged HTC One M9 alive PURELY for this function. There are so many times when it's just super handy to have that available. Very impressed that OnePlus built it into their 12. With that trade in offer, I'm actually quite tempted...but don't think it will be available (the trade in) where I live.

IR blasters are such an underrated feature. It was literally one of my favorite features from my LG G2 back in 2013... man that was a great phone.

I am using one plus 12 personally. I bought it after selling S24 ultra I would say on of the best android phones I have used. Very very good haptics very well executed. The camera of One plus is so amazing actually better than 15 pro max and s24 ultra when I took portrait mode pictures

That alert slider thing isn't a bug, it happens on my OP 7T as well, we just don't know how to turn that feature off

Dang, just picked up my pixel 2 months ago. Wireless charging is a huge one for me. Glad one plus got on the bus. Hopefully they will go to a flat screen next year. Rounded is so crack prone and expensive as heck to fix.

Picked up a Oneplus 11 recently as it was super low price because the 12 was coming. Absolutely thrilled with it. Especially the cameras. Took some photos of the kids Christmas morning in a low lit room and was amazed how clean and detailed the shots were.

The OP 7 Pro still to this day is my favorite phone of all time. The camera was fine, but everything else was perfect. Glad to see One Plus back in the thick of the smartphone competition.

5 years update is good for me, I upgrade phone every 5 years anyway. I'm sure most upgrade every two years when their contracts end.

Still rocking my 6T. I would get the 12 if they had long-term software support, but they don't. That's my only issue with my 6T, I had to switch to LineageOS, and a lot of things don't work with it.

Watching this from my "Flowy Emerald" OnePlus 12 that i picked up from Best buy the other day. I had a pixel 6 before this phone, and the battery life was awful. I had to run it on battery saver to get through a single day. I can say though that the OnePlus 12 battery life is really good ( no more battery anxiety). I really am enjoying this phone!

Like 8 years ago I got the one plus 3T because of a review I saw here (it also was the review that got me following you 😂) and it was one of the best phones I ever had!

Not gonna lie, during the intro when you peeled the keyboard off the full screen computer… 😮 I was not expecting that at all, had to double take 😂 Great review!!! Love the info on Qi2, the wired data transfer, water ignorant screen, all the little techie things that most don’t know. Also this is an insane phone for the price!

RETURN OF THE IR BLASTER YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEES. I was so sad to part with my LG G3 cos by the time I was upgrading my phone, no one was doing IR blasters anymore 😢

I've never heard of that aqua touch feature but that would be so damn useful when I'm trying to use my phone right after I've washed my hands!

I have the OP12 and love the curved glass. The screen finger print reader is great even after washing one's hands and not having them perfectly dry. With my old OP8 pro, I had to have absolutely dry fingers to use the print reader - not anymore! Love the curved display. So glad this doesn't have AI. Totally useless to me.

I was gonna go to a Pixel for my next upgrade, but the fact that this has an IR blaster might have sold me. Messing with the TV's at bars is a good time.

seems like might be a decent upgrade from my OP8 pro lol, that ir blaster is a pretty cool feature i feel like more phones should have that. although them keeping the curved screen is a bit a of a bummer. the R version is kinda interesting aswell

Watching this with my OnePlus 7pro. Ive been using it for 4years now. Its still perfect and everything stilll works. OnePlus make good phones.

Was looking to upgrade from my aging Huawei mate 20 pro since my volume buttons were broken on it and was looking at Asus Rog 8 and Redmagic 9 but felt that the oneplus 12 really fit the bill for what I wanted and that I could get it under a 1000 bucks! Waiting for my order to arrive : )

Mine came in a few days ago and I love the OnePlus 12. The screen is great and the battery feels like it never runs out. Definitely one of the best phones I've ever used.

One reason I'm still using a P30 Pro is because of the IR blaster. I use it in hotels where the AC is "broken", also in coffee shops where it's too hot/cold haha. and also the occasional spot of mischief.

Hi pal yea I've noticed the light drop off on the sides of the screen. Is that a defect or just the way the screen is made ?

One plus 7 is still the best screen they've made with a pop up front camera. 4 years still going strong.

I still own a 1 plus 1 , to get it you had to receive an exclusve invite. It was a top dog when it released, the best phone at the time. And i dropped it once cracked the screen and there was no way to replace it. Still have it in the shelf as a proud owner.

Ive had my OnePlus 12 for just over a week now, i finally upgraded from my OnePlus 7 pro, which has been fantastic over the past 5 years but degraded battery life and a broken screen ment it was time to upgrade. My first impressions are that this phone is fantastic in every aspect, performance, camera, battery life and charging speeds. The last two are so good, here in the uk we get 100w charging and ive never had a phone charge so quick or battery last so long, 2 full days easy! I also got a great deal getting a free pair of B&O headphones with it. All i can say is i highly recommend anyone this phone, its great value for money.

The real reason why this phone stood out to me and just changed my life is the charging speed. I became a oneplus believer in a matter of minutes, I'm not even joking. I am able to use this phone for 1-2 days and then then charge it back up with that SUPERVOC 100W charging in minutes, it's a super game-changer that I never knew I needed. I can literally just play some wild rift for 4 hours and get my battery down to 20%, then I leave it in for 5 minutes? It goes up to 50%. I leave it for 10 minutes? Okay now it's up to 80%! ...I leave it for 15 minutes on charge? It's back to 100%. It's literally crazy, I never knew this ultra charging is going to such an amazing feature... and Now I simply can't imagine a phone without it. So unless other brands adopt this 100W+ charging technology, I'm not even going to look the other way.

When apple introduced, USB C and the Titanium () as their new features, everyone is so amazed and talking and doing everything, When OnePlus introduces game changing features like IR Blaster, High PWM frequency and that rain drop touch, no one really talking about that. What type of a world is this?

I love the ir blaster I remember using my old LG V10 had one and it was awesome I would change the TV channel at the gym bar my home ahh great memories!

Almost got a Galaxy S24 Ultra but ultimately chose this phone instead. I feel like that aqua-touch is going to be life changing. Also hell yeah for high PWM, flickering has caused me SO MUCH eyestrain in the past years...
