Great video... Honest and fair... Straight to the point...I really like that type of content. Good job from One Tigris as well. Sure they've had some issues with this tent but instead of trying to hide, they've openly admitted something was wrong, recalled the product, refunded their customers and are actively working on a solution from what we can see based on their emails with Luke. To me that's what serious and quality companies should be about... Making good products and providing proper customer support if/when things go wrong to improve in the meantime the quality of their products.

It seems like a decent design other than the leaking vent. I know you've had seam sealing videos in the past, maybe you could seal the area around the vent, pitch the tent in your yard and see if it still leaks. Thanks for the warnings on this tent but it may not take that much to fix it. Certainly the price is good for the tent.

A two season tent is worthless. After all, a tent should provide good, comfortable shelter from the elements in most cases. Provided it has been properly set up, you should not have to worry about the elements; rather, be enjoying camping. Tent manufacturers who cheap out on design or manufacturing will lose business big time and should be out of the field for good. Thank you Luke for sharing this dialog with OneTigris.

Shout out to one tigris for being up front and recalling the tents and refunds etc. Not many company's are this honest and have good after sales. I have one tigris products and its good to see how they look after their customers.

Glad the company is acknowledging the problem and are working to rectify the issues; HOWEVER, if they are openly admitting to knowing about water leakage with this tent, I feel they should take the product off the market until it is completely free of water leakage. I've actually bought two of these tents 😂 I will just seam seal the area around the vents & get on my knees & say a prayer to the rain god's to go easy on me I think 🌧️

Any tent should be leakproof, regardless of price. That's the bare minimum expectation I have - to protect me from getting soaking wet. Isn't it ridiculous that we all assume that the consumer can apply seam sealer/waterproofing to a product to make it work, and that's somehow our responsibility after already paying a company for their product? Anyhow, the company responding at all is a testament to a UKpostsr who has established himself as the real deal with influence. I respect Luke a great deal.

I have a old camel tent from the 70's that never leaked no matter how much ran i had never seen a campground just back yard camping with my friends when i was younger and with a 12 inch bw tv that was paradise really miss those days

12 years ago I stayed in an older and well used $25 Walmart Ozark Trails 4 person tent for a month in Steamboat Springs CO. It rained everyday and many nights and it never leaked....

I’ve had no problems with mine though I’ve not experienced the level of rainfall that you have but I’ve left a hose pipe spraying it in my garden for 3 hours and it was fine no leaks which I’m happy about because I really love the tent.

Good on One Tigris for admitting the defect and standing up. The product is sub standard, that much is obvious. It would be interesting to see how they go forward with a replacement/upgrade of this model. Cheers from Winnipeg.

I have the waterproof onetigris footprint. It started to storm so I threw it over top of the tent and stakes down guide lines. Next day it was bone dry. Goes to show you. Always take a tarp with you camping. Always be prepared. I’m an Eagle Scout…lol! I have made alterations to the tent, such as sealing the seams and spraying down with Scotch Guard. I also put heavy duty waterproof Velcro at the vent to help keep them closed. The tent is now completely waterproof. It cost me $30 in supplies and a couple of hours. I do love the tent. It’s very warm in cold weather. It was worth it to me to fix the one little issue myself.

Rather than continue to sell a defective product with a "weather warning", they should stop selling it until the issues have been addressed.

I appreciate their openness. I don't tent camp. I use a hammock, I sleep under a big tarp, or I truck camp.

I wonder if seam-sealing the vents would change the tent's waterproofing. Could be worth an experiment.

I love the design of the tent, the spacious vestibules, the double side opening doors, the quick pitch, the portability - its such a unique design and I nearly bought one recently! If they can iron out the waterproofing issues (with the seams?) it should be a good seller and fairplay to their comms with you, respect to Onetigris. Version 2 please, double the hydrostatic head and sort the seams and you are on to a good seller.

Glad to see a company taking some responsibility. Looking forward to a second look when it’s improved. Also tell them to start making their camping table again.

Cudos to OneTigris for being transparent about this. Things don't always work out and owning that is everything. Even though this tent is a bust, I'm more likely to consider their products in the future because of their customer service. More companies should realise that this is the way; not hiding away in the shadows. A lot of game companies could learn from this lol.

Nice reviews. Friendly note from a 40 year TV professional - If you’re doing a long piece to camera as in this review, it’s best not to wear sunglasses. Eye contact with the viewer is crucial to create trust. That said, I’m impressed with the balance of this video.

1500mm rating can handle downpours for hours on end . I have another company's tents with this rating and for years has never let me down with heavy rainfall .

I applaud the manufacturer for being upfront and taking this issue seriously. But it is 100% useless as a tent, it’s a day use beach shelter at best. Hopefully they can rectify this and produce a new version that is actually tent.

Hi Luke. Thanks for this information. I am a long time viewer. I started watching when you were posting the overnight freezing rain adventures. I recently bought a OneTigris Tangram and used it on a trip from Max Patch to Hot Springs on the AT recently. The tent was brand new for this trip. First night we had some rain and no leaking. Second night we had a hard rain and the tent leaked BAD. The leaking was so bad there were puddles in the floor of the tent (I poured water out of the tent in the morning). To me it looked like the waterproofing on the tent fly fabric was not working. The seams are tape sealed, so I don't think that is were the water was entering. There was so much water entering the tent it looked like it was just soaking through the fabric. Needless to say I am REALLY disappointed. Did OneTigris say anything about their other tents? I'll be contacting their customer support at the email address you provided. Keep up the good work. I really enjoy watching your channel!

First, want to thank you for your work. Your gear reviews have saved me quite a lot of hassle and money. On the tent, I hope they sort the leaking and bring out a solid tent. It will sell and be popular if they make it work right aka no leaking.

I am glad they are taking action. This type of failure causing a recall can really hurt a company's bottom line. Let's hope they perform all the good follow up and improve the product.

As of now (1-06-23) I went to their website and they no longer have the severe weather warning and have 2 different waterproof ratings listed. The top portion of the page has it at 1500....but if you scroll down under details/specifications they have it rated as 2000...I'm very new to all of this and I don't know how big a difference that actually is...I have an eye for detail and had just noticed the fluke. I assume it's a very minor mistake by their editing guy is all. It's also gone up in price by $3. So personally, if they actually corrected the issues, the tent seems like it's an even better deal now than before, even after the very small price jump. I appreciate all these reviews, it's been a great help. I think this tent will make my top 5 final decision list and I possibly might end up purchasing one. 👍👍

I was really hoping this would be a good tent. Looked fantastic at first glance. Thanks for doing what you do and finding out what we can't without buying and then trying to return a defective product.

Well it makes a great mesh tent to use with a tarp on those hot and muggy Kentucky nights.

When you take a new tent out for a night or more (of wind, rain, etc.) to test it, do you also take a tent which you know is good, in case the tent being tested is poorly constructed and leaks badly, etc.and you then need to book into the other tent? Or so you just suffer the entire time (night/day) until you leave? Always appreciate your efforts.

Thank you for your work with this tent. I was looking at it really hard. It reminds me of the Eureka tcop. But that is $$$$ above my budget. Maybe they will get it right.

Both my tents are only rated at 1200mm for my rain fly and I’ve been through similar storms as you and have never had a single drop come in! But I also have a BA Flycreek 2 and a Nemo Osmosis Dagger 2… so good tent brands! I find paying the extra money for piece of mind is worth it!

We're all human and can make mistakes. The true mark of professionalism is to take responsibility for it, own it and do the best you can to make it right. One Tigress being willing as a company to update the product page and issue a recall on a flawed product shows their management has integrity at least and is doing the best they can at this point to set things right.

It’s about time we had more people like you who stand up for the paying public in not letting companies get away with selling inferior products. As you say what is the point in selling a tent which can not withstand rain, especially at that price. I do not have the money to waste on products that do not serve multiple functions or uses. I am in the market for a tent at the moment, but won’t be looking at OneTigris

I like that the company admitted and was transparent about the issue. No one is perfect and I’m sure they’ve learned to test their product more rigorously before production and putting them out. I will not be buying this tent but I have a bit more confidence in One Tigris as a company.

Love ur reviews, but yeah, a 2 season tent may be a problem on most countries... on mine would be allright, we only have 3 months of rain around here. Very predictable.... and not on vacations day.

That’s how you get people to support your company!

I suppose you could just seam seal around the vents, and be done with it. The HH rating is plenty sufficient to handle extreme rain, so it really just comes down to the seams. To put things into perspective, most high-end cottage tents require the purchaser to seal the seams themselves. So it is not at all uncommon for users to have to do this. If the vents are the only issue you noticed, that seems like a pretty easy fix. Also, after looking through the description/specs on the OneTigris website, it does not mention that this tent comes with manufacturer seam-sealing. This would imply that it is up to the user to seal the tent. That said, it would be nice if they put that disclaimer on the listing.

I agree that this product should be pulled from the market until the issues have been fixed. Slapping a warning label on it and continuing to sell it tells me they have a large sunk cost in manufacturing on this tent and are trying to unload as many as they can. Sorta not taking the high road there. With that said, I have this tent and don't mind experimenting with it and will seam seal everything. I have not officially used it but I set it up in the backyard for a couple of Iowa thunderstorms and yes, it did leak a little. I don't know how much rain fell as it was overnight. Also, I really like everything about this tent. The form, the weight, the ease of setup, the huge amount of room, even the form factor of the vents. I want this tent to succeed! It will probably be after next week before I can work on it as it's SO BLASTED HOT here. I plan to keep everyone informed on what happens. Thank you Luke for everything you do!

It is very interesting. I did take this tent in a heavy rain area, in fact the area was actually in a flood watch area. I was camping for 5 days, and mine never leaked.

It's a shame about the waterproofing, because it's a really cool design. I bet if I used waterproofing spray and seam sealer I could get that tent water tight. However at that price point, it's a lot to ask of the customer. Nice work Luke. Keep those agenda free reviews coming 👌

If I had this tent I would simply seam seal the stitching around the vents, it costs less than 10 bucks to do so and you can have it done in less than 20 minutes. It's either that or deal with the refund/return process which isn't always much fun. My Jack Wolfskin Gossamers PU coating just gave up the ghost near the door after 7 years of use and I've given it a new life by treating the flaked-off part with silicone, and I've also treated the other side of this area with silicone as well. It didn't take long at all and cost me nothing. (Btw, Jack Wolfskin would not sell me a new fly, as they do not have spares for their tents, a shame because companies like Hilleberg will happily fix ANY issue with your tent in order to keep the tents going)
