The message of the song The Ukrainian band ONUKA has made its sixth music video dedicated to the beauty of the world around us. To send this message, different costumes and national elements typical of different cultures of the world are used in the video: Ukrainian, Mexican, Japanese, African, while retaining in each of them the Ukrainian ethnic motifs. "I was aiming to create something like an old Ukrainian ritual song of a spellbound character. Light, sunny and life-affirming. To sing about the beauty of the world we live in, despite all it's flaws and contradictions".

You've probably already seen Onuka at Eurovision. She was the interval act in the Grand Final in Kyev in 2017. She was amazing. Zenit in Ukrainian is the word for zenith.

Regarding video. The director was Onuka’s husband. And general idea was to show how beautiful world is( soft of magic forest), where people dressed in traditional Ukrainian outfits have fun and dance with other representatives of other cultures, like Mexican, native Americans etc . Sort of, we all live in this beautiful world, we can be different and we can be happy. Sorry if my explanation is not clear enough:)))

"Onuka" is the name of the band, not the singer, and the singer is Nata Zhizhchenko.

That long wooden trumpet is called TREMBITA . It’s Ukrainian National musical instrument and actually the longest musical instrument in the world :))) It’s always made from a tree hit by lightning 🌩 😊

ONUKA is also a famous ECO activist:) all the costumes, every costumes’ detailsfor this video were made from old, reused clothes :) Actually every ONUKA’s track has deep history and meaning :) Recommend you to go deep into her music and watch more videos :) For example VIDLIK, Time and others :)

I discovered Onuka about a week ago. I've been listening to electronic music for around 40 years so I've heard a lot. I was blown away by Onuka. You can hear so much talent & historical context in what she does. As if she's giving Ukraine music a rebirth. I've really gone deep into the music & have been hoovering everything up! Her & her husband are a force to be reckoned with!

Onuka is literally translated as grand daughter. She took on this name because of her grand dad that she loved. He was a maker and a collector of sopilka (a.k.a. flute, a.k.a. recorder).

Zenith is a synonym of the word flourishing. In this context, the flourishing of the beliefs of pagans all over the world. And Japan and Africans, Germany, and the Netherlands, and Onuka's costume is a folk costume of the Germans (one of many). And young guys with strange hairstyles are students of the Druids.

Ukraine does not send already known artists to the Eurovision Song Contest. For Ukraine, the Eurovision Song Contest is an opportunity for unknown artists to gain fame through this show. Many of our great artists could go to Eurovision and undoubtedly be in the top 5, but they give the way to the young))) Украина не отправляет на конкурс "Евровидение" уже известных артистов. Для Украины Евровидение - это возможность для неизвестных артистов получить известность через это шоу. Многие наши великие артисты могли бы поехать на Евровидение и, несомненно, попасть в топ-5, но они дают дорогу молодым)))

she's wearing a type of crown/tiara inspired from actual folk costumes from russia and ucraine. You can see a continuum from ucraine to asian countries like china or mongolia in costumes :) small elements in common between these cultures are very evident in the costumes.
