I don't know about the sound, but the video of the macbook camera is definitely better than the Opal one.

I have to be honest, the MacBook built in mic sounds much better in my opinion. Then I went back and listened to the C1, and it sounds leagues better than both.

Great Video! Not sure bout the webcam though. I really like Opals design but especially the sound is really muffled compared to the Macbooks mic. $175 is a very steep price, I think $100 would be more adequate

Considering this is a sponsored video I'm surprised they let him showcase the obviously much better Macbook Pro camera. Also, both iOS and macOS now have different microphone modes (standard, noice cancellation and wide spectrum), so I imagine with the noise cancellation one the Macbook can sound just as good, or even better.

This is a solution to a problem that doesn't exit at least for modern laptops. The audio especially was bad on the Opal, sounded like you were in a tincan, sure the background noise was gone but are we really sitting in meetings in a busy coffee shop or restaurant?

IMHO the MacBook's camera and audio is definitely better and it's not even close when it comes to audio. The Opal sounds like a cheap 90$ Chinese smartphone call.

Good video as always. Love Opal’s design language but that microphone is not great for $175! The 4K sensor is cool but it doesn’t look worlds better than the MacBook sensor. Swing and a miss from Opal but it’s a first gen attempt at this price point so we’ll see how they improve in the future.

Camera looked really good until he got up and it got choppy. Mic wise, yea the newer higher end laptops do have better sound than most external webcams
