i hope you both are doing better now. Yesterday my wife tested positive Covid and been rough. I' am stuck in san diego on probation and we live in Ensenada Mexico where my wife is at. I can't cross the boarder to go see her. Thank God her lungs are only inflamed and no water. She went to a Mexican specialist today, but I want her seen in the USA and she is coming Friday. Ill keep all 3 of you in my prayers. I'm a avid hiker just got my Ultra pack from Zpacks this week. Love your videos get well soon. :)

U wouldn't want to say which forest road, would you? Its a 12 hr drive for me, failed at finding that spot last year. Going to try again next week. Cant wait to dig crystals again !!

Stayed in the back of the jeep on a very cold and windy night in that very spot so we could section hike the OT the next morning. Yes, it would be a great spot in the summer! Plan to go back

Just stumbled on your channel by searching free camping in Arkansas. Been to Big Fir and am planning on going back for NYE this week sometime. Great video looking forward to more..that big chrystal was awesome. I found some great pieces just walking around Lake Ouachita when I camped there back in Oct. Arkansas is so beautiful and great camping.

There is a place in North Carolina called Aurora fossil museum and they have pits outside where you dig like this and find tons of nice sharks teeth. They dump out the tailings from a mine and thats what you search in for the teeth.

This is awesome crystals have been around in Arkansas for like 280 million years from the closing stages of mountain building deposited from hot water Arkansas is absolutely beautiful with some beautiful crystals

Have your van's battery tested. When you started the van it sounded weak. Why doesn't the van have heat? Excellent adventure. Carry water to wash the crystals.If you need to replace the van's battery, save the old one and use it as a power supply. Carry it in one of those containers that fishing boats use for their electric trolling motor batteries. You can get 12 volt heating pads for very cold nights. You can also get 12 volt fans for when its hot. Have fun. Good Luck, Rick

Kelly, you may have already fixed the heating problem in your van, but in case you haven't, the usual cause is a stuck thermostat in the engine's cooling system. It's usually not a difficult or expensive repair.

We just backpacked about 35 miles of the Ozark Highlands Trail last week. We love the Arkansas Ozarks so much- always have! Best kept secret in the Midwest! The Spirits Creek section is incredible and one of the prettiest places in the country, I believe. Really enjoyed your video. One day I hope to dig for crystals there, as well!

You were very close to correct. Sleep science tells us the best temperature for humans to sleep at is 55 degrees. But who does that. I know people whose bedroom to 72° and they wear pajamas to bed then complain how they never get a good night's sleep.

Love the crystal mine at Jessieville. FYI there are also some amazing crystal mines west of Mt Ida. Carbolic acid does a good job of removing mineral stain from the crystals but it takes at least a three day soak
