Alex saying there’s a big & exciting announcement coming up, Edwin leaving CT, Alex making a insta story with Ethan about something new happening few weeks back, Alex meeting up with his financial advisor, Rory saying that they “will need a bigger couch” in the unit on a comment, them get rid/ finishing videos with all their existing cars ( which are CT owned) and the sad music isn’t just a coincidence. I think it’s the end of CT as we know it. Hope for some new stuff happening.

It still fascinates me that Jack manages to present Car Throttle and be the frontman of Kasabian at the same time

"Sat for one year" As someone from family with close to ten of these older volvos you can have it sitting for ten and it'd probably fire right up. Also mileage, well you can't really find these up here in north at under 500k km because they just do not break.

This does feel like the end of the Clarkson, Hammond and May era of top gear. Contractually obliged video. The goodbye at the end felt more like a permanent one. The fact Ethan turned up in an autoalex vid a while back spoke volumes to me. It would be sooner rather than later.

CT has been bought in 2023 by crash media group. On their website there are couple of job adverts for car throttle: Social Media Manager and Junior Production Assistant. Latter payin.... UP TO £22k (in London!) for pretty much doing EVERYTHING on the channel. List of duties include: Working on Car Throttle cars in between filming Towing and moving cars Ordering and collecting parts Working on behind the scenes tasks in the production process General running for shoots Scripting Booking locations, travel and accommodation Speaking to tracks, dealerships, clients, transport, mechanics Sorting Insurance, managing the Car Throttle fleet and the bay Conducting crowd control by putting up signs, directing pedestrians away from filming, lock down sets etc. Perform administrative work (answering phones, paperwork etc.) Undertake errands as assigned Anyone surprised why this channel is dead? I'd love one of those. The cheapest car I ever bought, was a £270 Volvo 850 in the same colour as that. It had absolutely nothing wrong or broken on it. It still ranks as one of my favourite cars I've owned. It was so comfy and reliable. ❤

Unlike an old Volvo, I don't think CT can come back from this neglect. I hope Jack and Ethan make the move elsewhere, but I'll still have a lot of respect for them both if they don't. As Alex said in that long interview, I really respect the security of being employed rather than self-employed, but I really think AA and TDC are going places, great places, and those places will be brighter still if Jack and Ethan come along too. Lots of love for all you guys.

Daily driving my 210hp/340nm Volvo 940 wagon is the best thing I’ve done. Not economical, but my god i loved it.

I'm glad it was a shirt easy video. It gives me hope for my 940 which is in a similar state but less mouldy! Reading the comments about it perhaps being the end for CT videos is concerning but as long as everyone gets onto their next big thing and we get some good videos that is the main thing. Hopefully we won't get a total refresh on CT with Chris Evans, Matt LeBlanc and Eddie Jordan turning up as it just won't be the same. I thought with Jack and Ethans sleeping cars there would be another big camping/road trip.

Car throttle gave me the courage to buy a high mileage car, was struggling with dealers so got out of the warranty and got a cheap vw passat estate with 165k miles and loved every second of it the past 4 months of currently owning it

From someone who lives in a country where a lot of people still daily these old Volvos (2,7,9&8 series) I'm not surprised that it started so easy. They're durable, comfortable to drive and cheap to maintain. I used to daily an 88 240 b200e sedan to work until I was cut off on the motorway and smashed the front corner. Now I'm waiting for insurance money and driving a Polo.

I think lads have had enough of CT managment. It would be very sad to see Car Throttle end as I have been a fan for many years, however I hope that Jack and Ethan will leave because they deserve better. Guys I wish you all the best and see you some other time !

These high mileage cars amaze me 🤯 most people see a car with 60, 70 or even 80,000 miles and believe it's on its last legs but these car have so so much more to give. As long as they are maintained well they will last ages.

So happy to see the old Volvo getting some love! They are such an enigma. On paper they should be the least interesting and most boring cars to experience. But they always seem to put a smile on the face of anyone who has one. I plan to keep my 2001 xc70 on the road as long as I possibly can! Even if the MPG ruins me financially because I got the petrol instead of the diesel 😅

Honestly my old 9-3 estate is the best car ownership experience I've had. It looks after me and with minimal effort from me it just keeps going. Can park it anywhere and not care if it gets a scratch or door ding is brilliant

Had an old 850 saloon many years ago. Still the most comfortable car I ever owned. Felt like driving on a cloud. It certainly liked a drink which was the main reason I had to move it on but miss the comfort.

How the hell has car throttle collapsed so quickly 2022- Alex left Jan 2024 - Edwin left April 2024- Jack and Ethan left. And Ethan worked for Car Throttle for 12 years. What service he did for that channel

This was a good episode, not because of anything amazing happened but because that's just how car life is and it really highlights what it's like to own older vehicles

Love a Volvo estate. My parents had numerous over the years, but none will ever be quite like the 940 Celebration they had in silver. Something about the way it turned over then surged into life was intoxicating to by child self.
