The way everyone's bases and builds are all intermingled this season is such a great change. It feels like I actually know where everything is in relation to everything else unlike in previous seasons when bases often felt so far apart. And the way some hermits are using horses and paths instead of just flying everywhere has made this really warm and homely feeling to the server. Loving season 8 so far!

I agree! They're really hitting on one of the core aspects of a SMP and I am loving it so far! Almost every episode of almost every hermit, you can see them collabing with someone.

One thing i love about Bdubs' thinking when he builds is how he relates features to how they work in real life. The detail to add darker stones at the shore is amazing, and it looks amazing! I saw Grians Giga-Boatem-Base episode first. Thats some tough competition for the Boatem. And the big eyes crew has the advantage of a more centralized position. It feels like the southerners are being left out though, they should probably band together and make their own commercial center. ^^

Now the question is where would docm and Ren stand as well as Etho and Iskall. both duos have great goods to offer as well. Could be a very interesting economic development there. Especially Iskall would benefit from selling his prismarin stuff at a bigger market. I'm not sure how many come out to his old tegg base.

Just something to think about on the gravel beaches, I live in Seattle and we have some beautiful rocky beaches I visit all the time and yes most of the water front doesn’t have much moss or organics (unless it’s low tide) nearly all of them contain little tide pools that do have a lot of variation of mosses and what not! Love the season keep it up!

I love that you broke the cove into two coves with that pride rock! I think it might also look cool if you were to have it meld into the larger mountain some more. So as it gets closer to the big mountain, it slopes up and widens. Then you could have the path cut through it and have retaining walls (or a tunnel if it's high enough) on either side of the path (maybe also some earth/ruble pouring out at both ends of the retaining walls).

I really like this more tight-knit, "clique" type of season where everyone is closer together and kind of in their own "neighborhoods" and joining together to do their own communities and businesses over the usual mega bases, separated from each other and a designated shopping district that kind of seems like a circus with it's mess of different styles.

Any even remotely sane person would have stopped after building a huge mountain and paths all over the island. Not Bdubs. He builds a small mountain, and then decides to rebuild his path using one of the harder to acquire blocks in the game. Guy's a madman, and we're all lucky to watch him work.
