The bivouac was built using helicopters to fly in each section. The modules were manufactured in the valley and transported by helicopter. Each module weighed 600 kilos, including its interior fittings. The modules were clamped to a trapezoidal rail-beam, which was also made of composite. The rail-beam was attached to the rock at six points distributed along half its length.

It looks like the outer shell is one piece. I don't know if a civilian helicopter could have brought that up there. Probably a Chinook helicopter could - but it really depends on how heavy it is - hard to tell. The only other way that could have gotten up there would have been to use a mechanical hoist pulley system - but that presents some problems too - it would seem that it would have been bashed to pieces when pulling it up. Wonder if there is an explanation web page or video somewhere of how they got it up there.
@howardhughes6212

@MrSaiga308 Hi I actually build things for a living. You do realize that a team of men could lift all that up there. You westerners say helicopter, meanwhile a sherpa is laughing. Humans have built larger structures in the mountains without modern technology

Could a Sikorsky helicopter have brought up the capsule in one piece with a construction mountain climbing crew waiting ? Those helicopters can tow insane amounts of weight.
@peoplez129
@peoplez129 8 місяців тому
Looks to me that they brought it all up in one go. So you'd basically have people prepping the site for when it arrived by drilling the pins that secure it to the rock, attached to a surface where things can be bolted to the pins (probably 4 bolts on each corner of each leg), then you'd align the legs with the pins and slowly lower it and bolt the legs down. You'd probably have multiple men ready to go to bolt it down as quickly as possible, maybe even as many men as there are bolts, so that it doesn't have time to move much before it's bolted. They'd use something like an impact driver that rapidly secures the bolts, but obviously dangerous work. They may have also built a kind of framework cradle for the whole thing to rest in, so that it could be dropped off quickly by the helicopter without needing to secure it, and then removed that framework after they were done securing it in place. That's probably the most likely answer, because it's the safest way to do it.

I am an alpinist and climber so for me it's an easy trip. But I can tell that this corner of Mont Blanc, which I know very well, is very special. I liked how you tell your story, traveling is above all traveling within oneself. I live near a rescue helicopter station. At the moment helicopter is currently in continuous use. Many tourists are inexperienced, ill-equipped and unprepared. Two fatalities this week alone. The rescuers now have to fetch tourists because they are too lazy for the descent. What many do not know is that such operations are charged and that the insurance company gets out in such cases. Such a helicopter operation costs between 3,500 euros and more.

I’ve lost all of my dreams in life and don’t see any good in the future but videos like this make me want to dream and achieve goals again. How I wish I could also see nature like this, and maybe one day travel to this capsule as well. I could only wish.

Really enjoyed the video! It did kind of start out like some American tv show about 2 inexperienced hikers heading out with no marked trail and faltering GPS, and we all know how those shows end up. haha. very glad it all went smoothly!

hey Bernardo, i recently bumped into your channel and your videos are so well made and inspiring, congrats for the great work behind! I’m a mountain lover and quite experienced hiker, even if I never tried this particular hike I just want to say that there are a ton of risks in high mountain trips you’re not mentioning in this video, as well as a training and mountain knowledge needed to perform such a hike that without warning about could give a misleading idea to the viewer of the actual risks involved and feasibility of your trip. This summer Alps saw a dramatic increase of rescuing requests, the vast majority by unexperienced hikers. I’m glad it all went smoothly to you, but that’s not always the case, and saying you don’t have the right preparation doesn’t make this a fully responsible communication. Hoping not to be too pedant, loved your video & hope to see new adventures soon ✌🏻

Legit comment that should be pinned. Great video and I feel like we don't know everything that was behind the scenes, such as guides perhaps? Talented videographer, and wise viewer. Perfect combo.

I'm glad there are others who get this feeling as well. too many inexperienced folks crowding up the mountains. wouldn't say i'm anywhere pro, but in the last winters i also saw people snow hiking with regular sneakers and starting their trip at 2 pm. i hope this is just a phase, but fear it may be the same as with the vanlife hippie weirdo boom that just keeps blossoming... not that i wouldn't like some nature and freedom myself, it's just sad that nature seems to become more like an adult playground or adventure theme park lately...

Sweet trip. Ive hiked, biked, skied and 4 wheeled to a few beautiful locations like that in the Sierra and Colorado. Even though I don't take many pictures I also remember all those epics. Those sandwiches looked really good! 😋That crunch was really appetizing! Food is a big motivation for me. We've done prime rib in a Dutch oven when 4 wheelin' for a couple weeks. When I go into the mountains I love 'clean out the fridge' type sandwiches with anything and everything that looks good. But some fresh baked bread makes all the difference. When you're camping, outdoors, hungry and maybe just 'surviving' the simplest food , even ramen, can seem like a wonderful blessing! My favorite high calorie 'energy food' is PBJs with Nutella and bacon on thick dense German style bread. About 900 calories. I burn all that up and then some. Usually bring a couple on a several days long trip. I come home often 5-10 pounds lighter and hungry enough to eat a week's worth of food! The after trip chow fest is a blast. We budget for it and go somewhere pretty nice if we can clean up or if they'll let our dirty stinking unshaven bodies thru the door.

Actually I wouldn't say the gas and pans are random objects, in a lot of refuges there are no gas canisters or pans and if you go on a multi day hike over the glaciers it's really usefull information to know if there are pans, so you don't have to carry anything extra you wouldn't need.
