WHY do they prefer cardboard??? It just blows my mind…. So, I just made my cats houses / beds from Amazon boxes… I stuffed old towels, sweatshirts and a couple,old blankets into them and then pulled old t-shirts over the boxes using the head opening as the entryway into their beds… they loved them… of course, the moment I have an Amazon box opened on the floor, I have two 1 year old kitties in them!

My cat princess died on my bed I was holding her paws 🐾 😢 and she passed away holding my hand I love her .

Same... I had to euthanize him, as the doctor said there is no way saving him, so we did it... And he slowly died in my arms.... I have never cried more in my entire life, but what made me regain myself was the thought that i still gave him a couple of good years we wouldn't have gotten as we found him sick in the dead of winter.

My cat was 6 we had him for 4 years he died 2 months ago I'm still not over it broke my heart he was I'll one day the day after dead I was and still am devastated

Honestly, I can kinda buy that. Our dog had an extreme medical emergency and while we were driving to the vet I took a picture of her because I was afraid she would die and it would be the last time I’d get a picture of her alive. The vet assumed she was trying to lower her body temp because she’d only do it if there was water in there and she’d lay belly out and down and try to get as wet as possible. My other cat was just… she was in too much pain and actually WANTED to be with us. We cuddled her in blankets on our laps for days until our appointment. And she stroked out on my lap in the car on the way for her to be put to sleep, she was gone and I was cuddling her instead of having her in the carrier. I’m SO GLAD. 😿 So- no, animals don’t always hide because they’re weak and vulnerable. For one of my babies, it scared her. We’ve had a lot of pets since becoming adults- and 3 of them have passed; ALL of them have passed on my lap/chest if I was reclined. 🤷🏻‍♀️ 🫂

It depends on the cat's personality. I've had several cats over the years. Some came to me, others sought out a quiet space. I've had cats die on my lap and had other cats run away. I've mostly owned older rescue cats so them dying happened unfortunately often.

Actually, if you take into consideration what he says + tone you'll realize he thought the cat was dead or at least that something was wrong. When the cat wakes up he says: "Si, estás vivo. Lo siento." Which translates to: "Yes, you're alive. I'm sorry.", as in "I'm sorry for waking you up." All of this in a very sincere tone.
