I love the themes present here. I always perceived this song as a typical break up song on the radio but I have a completely newfound respect for it after watching this video and interpreting the lyrics. I see it now for something significantly better. A ballad for the forgotten, the oppressed, and the marginalized. I can't believe this song is 6 years old. It's so special to me, a song of justice, leadership, voice for the oppressed and a real light through the hard times. It seems to have gotten worse since this song has came out but for me it makes the meaning of the lyrics even more powerful. Just saw her perform it in London in Hyde Park and it has the same power, emotion and connection it did when it came out.
