Alex is the boss of Palantir. His company sells products to customers and needs to respond to their needs. Palantir is successful because it does that well. It does it well because the company and its culture and technology are well-designed by Alex in particular. Study his emphasis and background in civil liberties and you'll start to see where some of this thoughtfulness and care come from.

It's simply making better use of data that's already available, i.e., very good data mining. What's important is that Palantir was also designed to protect privacy. A less ethical company wouldn't even bother to do that.
@Senai88
@Senai88 3 роки тому
It is. Everyone talking about how ethical and moral they are haven’t looked into their past...
@LoanwordEggcorn
@LoanwordEggcorn 3 роки тому
@@Senai88 Palantir makes software tools that are used to help stop fraud, money laundering and terrorism. Most people think those things are bad and that stopping them is good. Their tools are also used to make workers more effective and to improve the quality of products. Most people also consider those to be positive things. The ethical dimension is that the tools include strong protection for privacy via encryption. This allows decisions to be made without knowing personal identities, for example for making a bank loan without knowing someone's race, gender or even name, but based on their actual behavior, i.e., are they financially responsible. Please study the matter further.
