I am so appreciating this series and am so thankful this has been given to us! To go back to Jesus’ final week here is so necessary for us to begin to understand. Thank you to everyone who helped with this, I will keep this forever!

I feel strange celebrating “Easter”. Feels like it is a “gateway drug” to “Sunday Sacredness.” The only Biblical mandate in celebrating the resurrection is Baptism.

depending on where one lived, the goddess of fertility had different names, Ishtar, Isis, Astarte, Ashtaroth, Diana, others. for me, having a day to specifically remember the resurrection isn't the real issue. it's the timing. many years ago i questioned the reasoning for the weeks difference between Passover and Easter. later i learned why. it was the time of the worship of the pagan goddess, the first sunday after the first full moon after the vernal equinox. personally, i've always thought if you wanted to have some service to remember or honor the resurrection, why not have a service for that on the sabbath after the Passover? it's the principle, the same principle we use for sabbath and sunday, sunday having it's roots, it's beginnings in pagan worship. i'm not going to condemn or shun someone who does, but, if the question comes up i'll explain my views on it.
