there will never be another player who is the best with the puck, has genius level hockey iq, apnd is the top defensive forward in the league in his prime. We are watching an absolute legend. thank God for technology and youtube or else my kids would not believe the stories about the magic man and his tricks

Definitely one of the greatest hockey two-way hockey players to ever play the game. If not the best. As a Red Wings fan I got the pleasure to watch him play game in and game out. For guys like him being drafted 171st overall and Henrik Zetterberg 256 overall is mind-blowing. Crazy. I actually think they picked 170 players before they pick Pavel Datsyuk. This guy was doing stuff way before these kids nowadays have we're doing it. Definitely the most entertaining hockey player of that era.

That's incredible. What amazes me most is not Datsuk's hands or legs. It's his head. Every time he moves you antisipate his next step, and what he does is the complete opposite. And perfect skating and quick hands complete the move just like he planned. No wonder he makes the best defensemen look like 6 year old rookies. How can #13 think of all these things in an instant is the main mystery of this player. Hockey genius.

Thank you for posting this 12 min showcase of awesomeness. Datsyuk is and always will be my favorite player. The best thing about him is that aside from stick handling skills that are out of this world, he is strong on the puck, raises his game when it matters most... And is the best defensive forward in the game. Love him!!!

Gretzky, Lemieux, Crosby some of the greatest players ever. As good as they are and as good as they are at amassing insane amounts of points, Dastyuk is the best ever in my own opinion. No one ever has done nor will do what he does. Making the best players in the world look like absolute fools every night. Him and Bobby Orr did things that no other players will ever do. Often imitated, never duplicated.

Best video out there, good work! I remember the first time he pulled his signature move against Dallas on a pass from Hull. I had never seen a goalie burned so bad! I was in awe. From that day on he was my favorite player.

ive been able to see him live playing the flames and every time he got the puck around the half wall everyone on the flames was like oh shit who is he gonna embarrass. And the crowd was just dazzled by him even as an opposing team.

@Mark...one could make the debate but one would be wrong. Yzerman was my idol, although I don't like the word, growing up. Yzerman was incredible...but Datsyuk is super human. I've never seen a forward with the defensive abilities he has.

I don't like Federov but I think the debate is more suited for him and Datsyuk. F ederov was so good that Scotty forfeited his incredible offensive abilities to have him be a defenseman at times. I heard a Wings official once say they were near certain he could have won a Norris trophy as a defenseman.

I watch this once a week waiting for hockey season. his skating ability alone is mind boggling. Preds might make the playoffs yearly now that pasha doesn't have his way with the 5-6 times a year
