Exactly. They were the best opportunity to revitalise Hip Hop as a sport & Cole turns around and calls that pillar of the whole genre/culture "lame". A lot of the talk around this makes it very clear to me that many rap fans are not hip hop fans. Everybody on a soapbox projecting, moving like people like you or I wanted this to happen for it to escalate to death. When we just realise hip hop needs this stuff rn. I'm a real emotional person too, but this sh*t isn't about wanting to see people suffer. It's about not wanting even more rappers to snuff more light out of the sport of this artform whilst trying to paint anyone who appreciates this as some psychopaths who want to see a bloodbath. Just disappointing on so many levels.

I'm disappointed in Cole not for feeling the way he feels but because of how he went about responding. He could've crafted a really well done response that touched on his internal conflict and resistance to clap back but also remind K-dot that the pen is always ready and included some light jabs. He could've called it "Friendly Fire" and had some fun w/it. Instead he responded in a way that made him uncomfortable, apologized, and now the hip hop community is divided.
