They need to have flexible waiting periods. No more knee high contests. Let's keep the range of 6- 8ft plus in determining the World Champion

Agreed airs are cool to see but they should be just like a functional turn like not only one air on a closeout but a air with a combination of good turns should be scored pretty decent

Exactly. This " air war " gets boring. It's the best finish when a wave close, but surfers usually sacrifice all the wave to get speed and throw a 360 reverse.

Exactly, John does this sort of jaw-dropping stuff in pumping powerful surf, and then we're subjected to a mushbucket dribblefest at measly Trestles as the grand finale to decide a world champ. Bring back Kieren Perrow and let's get this trainwreck of a tour back on track. Epic final day at Margs btw 😎🎉

When will these other competitors learn to stop doing so many turns, full rotations, switch rides, pop shovits, etc... and just stick to solid 70s style rail games and laybacks on just a couple turns so the judges know what they are looking at. Classic Keep It Simple Stupid (KISS) strategy wins out again.

I feel like the WSL throws out tens too much these days. John surfed that wave amazingly and by no means is this a detraction from that, but that wasn't a ten point wave. Tens used to be few and far between and now you see a handful each contest. Perhaps the judging criteria now works on a slope given the wave conditions?
