Houston plays at an insanely slow tempo, a lot like the 2018 Virginia squad and have a bad matchup waiting for them in Nebraska, that has me out on them despite how good their defense is. UConn is an amazing champion pick but also plays a bit slower than I'd like and will have to go through Auburn. That said, they are so well-rounded and efficient on offense that it probably won't matter. Purdue has everything you want from a champion and people will be wary of picking them because of their history of choking. Their guard play is WAY better than last year and they are top 5 in 3 pt% plus they have the best free throw rate in the country so most teams should find themselves in foul trouble.

USF was quad 1 all year. Santa Clara was right on the cusp of quad1, even beat the zags. WCC is heavily weighed down by the bottom 3 teams, but are still 11th in both kenpom and net out of 30 some odd conferences. By no means a power conference but USF, SC, Saint Marys, and GU are all capable teams. Just funny that he’s got SMC making a run and then saying the zags lose cause the conference is terrible 😂

James Madison is my pick, and while there hasn’t been a #12 seed to make the Final Four there has been two of them (2002 Missouri and 2021 Oregon State) to make it to the Elite Eight so why not them being the first team to go further on that seed line? They really feel like they’re capable of it and you never know what may happen, history is always being made every year.
