Hi all! Today we will analyze how to close the gaps that form between the baseboard and the wall and make them invisible so that they look as one. The most important thing is to glue all the plinth joints well and with high quality, as well as all internal and external corners. Otherwise, you risk cracking at the plinth joints, even at the putty joint. Polyurethane plinth is a very capricious material and therefore it is necessary to pay special attention to the quality of its installation and subsequent puttying and painting.
After gluing the plinth, in any case, a gap will appear between the plinth and the wall, here we already use acrylic sealant. We seal this connection with acrylic sealant, using a sealant gun and a special silicone spatula.
We have come to the most interesting part - the putty of our joints, to make them invisible, we will use car putty for bumpers. This putty is much more reliable and stronger than polymer putty or gypsum putty. Car putty is unrivaled, and the most important feature of car putty is that its drying time is about 30-40 minutes, that is, after we putty our joint in an hour, it can be sanded and painted, which will greatly reduce the time of work and thereby increase the cost of the working day.
When the first layer is puttied and sanded, you can check it with your finger tactilely so that nothing sticks out anywhere and does not interfere, then you need to degrease everything before the second layer of putty. We will putty the second layer on a strip and grind it with a special sandpaper with a gradation of about 500-800, with the second layer of putty we simply remove small shells and banks on the putty.
Sanded, checked, everything is smooth, perfect, in the same way everything needs to be degreased and painted. All this work, which is described above, is done in one day, that is, we putty in two layers, grind and paint.
