Found this channel because of the Yakuza videos (now that's a series I didn't know existed a couple months ago that I am suddenly obcessed with) and suddenly my favorite Persona game also got a re-release! I'm actually kind of nervous going into this. P3 was one of the very first things I watched people play on UKposts, that's like 15 years ago now and I'm such an incredibly different person. I really hope I can enjoy the game as much now as I did then.

Tbh as much as Reloads improved on FES, Makotos awakening nd the intro scene wit Yukari tryna use her evokers mid af, they kinda sacrificed the OG’s artistic direction for simplicity

I still love parts of this opening but the music and the cutting between the hustle of the street and the gun scene it's just not as good. Less stressful not a fan of that part, original is better in this regard.

Only thing I’ll say is Yukari lost her snarkiness she sounds too nice :/ Edit: also I’m the complete opposite with the non animated persona awakening for makoto. Like what was that janky wobbly mess 😬 to me remaking animated cutscenes is like Disney making 3D remakes of old animated movies, they’re all a downgrade Also the cynical side of me disagrees that the reason for having a whole new cast for the eng dub was to have a fresh start when the Japanese cast stayed the same minus one or two character. It might just be a culture thing but I don’t really like the idea of getting rid of older voice actors out of main roles because they aren’t “fresh and new” anymore. In Japan and even other countries are known to keep the same voice actors because they’re more like celebrities that represent the characters. Here in (specifically) North America (mainly US/Canada) from what I’ve seen most voice actors are just simply that. Voice actors that can be replaced with younger more “fresh” voice actors or even be replaced because the voice actor doesn’t represent the character racially coughBleachcough (which is funny because we got Americans voicing Japanese characters lol so it shouldn’t matter). The Jpn cast largely sounds the same and the only difference being better mic quality to actually hear them better. Other than that I’m mixed on some of the new voices (won’t say), dislike multiple(again I won’t say because I’ve found that disliking a change makes you a nostalgist hater that has no reason to voice your opinions because you’re not allowed to say you dislike something from something new), and like some more than the older voices like aigis and fuuka.

If you already thought Yuko was best girl, you're going to like her even more in this one! I was lukewarm to her in the old games, but her VA is excellent in this.
