A few clarifications: 1. I really hate the cgi on the lizard in TASM 1. It looks terrible to me. I think it’s partly because the design is really bad but it takes me out of the movie which is what bad cgi is. That’s what I was referring to. But if you think it looks great, that’s fine. I do think TASM 2 has the best CGI out of all the spider-man movies. 2. “Happily ever after” is a joke, it’s a way of coping with the pain lmao. 3. People saying “people only appreciate the tasm movies because of nwh and how dare they become new fans” need to stop. I was one of those people who loved the tasm movies when they came out and I’m happy that they’re getting new fans. Keep in mind that the movies came out 9/7 years ago and that teens who were like 8 when the movies came out are discovering them now and that’s fine! You aren’t a fake fan if you watched and loved the tasm movies after nwh regardless of age and I just thought I’d mention that :) 4. Would anyone be interested in a part 2? They have so many great scenes that I had to cut a bunch out due to copyright.

Funfact: Emma actually makes a mistake as it was written in the script she was to say "Spiderman!" but she says "Peter!" by mistake and she immediately recognized her mistake and she slaps her mouth. That was actually a blooper and she delivered it well

i really love how they moved to england and lived happily ever after and peter is spiderman there bc they got crime in england and gwen is very successful in her college and peter is also very successful and everything is great !!!

the fact that we know the feelings are real between the actors makes there relationship on screen so much more meaningful

I never understood why so many people were trash talking Andrew's version when it came out AND NOW I FINALLY FEEL VALIDATED (and a bit smug) SINCE HE WAS ALWAYS MY FAVORITE!

Their interactions legitimately feel real, like they're not scripted actors but real awkward teenagers

Emma Stone's Gwen is literally the female icon of all spiderman movies She's put together, got her priorities straight, knows what she wants, is selfless but not at the sacrifice of her wants and needs, and is just an all round delight of a character Most importantly, even in her final moments, she's not a damsel

Coming back to this makes you realize how different this Peter's personality was. He's not a kid like Tom or a struggling adult like Tobey, he's a cocky teen Spiderman who's near the 'golden age' of his career. He's very emotional and expressive.

These two are the reason why my standarts for love are so high😭

These two have INSANE chemistry. Nothing even comes close.

It's the little details Andrew adds to the character that drives me absolutely insane. Like the way he holds Gwen's graduation cap when he was kissing her passionately so it wouldn't fall off. Like it shows that he takes care of her even in a heated moment of reckless romantic gesture.

After seeing this, Andrew's part in no way home hurts 20 times more

As much as I love Peter and MJ from the MCU I still think this is the best Spider-Man couple ever put on the big screen.

“You just kissed me” “I’m sorry I just couldn’t help it” “how did you like it” their breathing, relationship everything is so beautiful and so real. Let me go cry now😭

They truly were the blueprint and reason the standards be so high. All I know is Peter Parker did it for Gwen Stacy and we all deserve the same.

not only is their chemistry unmatched, but gwen also has agency outside of peter, she’s smart and gives herself amazing opportunities, her life doesn’t revolve around him. and she actually helps peter (unlike mary jane who is just a pawn to be threatened and saved). she’s an interesting fleshed out character who helps drive the plot. i love the choice to have gwen find out in the middle of the first movie, it makes her much more useful and important beyond just being a love interest. gwen also fell in love with peter first, mary jane fell in love with spider man. anyway that’s why i agree and this is the best ever superhero couple

She was fearless, and took her own decisions and it stick to them. It will be epic when she comes back as Spider Gwen.

I mean, there's a reason why Gwen becomes the superhero herself in an alternate universe -- *she's awesome.* This is known. Sorry, MJ. You're cool, but Gwen's cooler.

Everybody knows it didn't end in happily ever after. But they deserved a happily ever after more than almost any super hero couple ever!

They're the couple of all the films that deserved THE WORLD. And it breaks my heart they didn't get it. Fun fact: the kiss from Garfield at the graduation was improvised 🥰

They were actually the most healthy relationship I’ve seen in Spider-Man 😭😭 like there wasn’t any miscommunication or “oh but you can’t leave or make your own decisions without me” even if the decision kinda lead to her death it was still a good message to trust in your partners ❤️❤️

3:16 I don't really see what is that bad about the cg. This film's cg has aged spectacularly well especially considering that fight is entirely cg and the shots of him looking at how far away oscorp is and the final swing are some of the best cg ever.

SPOILERS AHEAD It really hurt when we lost her. It's funny, I've read the comics before (several years before this movie was a thing) and as soon as we saw set-photos of her outfit, I knew what storyline they were going with. I just didn't expect them to do so well in writing her character, they gave her so much agency while also allowing her to retain the vulnerabilities that make her so attractive to Peter. She's strong but also emotionally disarming, you just want to love everything about her (not to mention Emma Stone is so incredibly beautiful). It's like she was written so even the viewer themselves would fall for her. I knew what was coming, I had known months before the movie even hit theaters, and it still destroyed me. It absolutely _d e s t r o y e d_ me. It hurts so bad I can't really watch this movie anymore because I know the chemistry between Gwen and Peter is gonna reel me in and then they're gonna spear me through the heart at the end of it. It felt almost twisted the first time I had to watch it, because they were literally moments from being in the clear. They had just beaten Electro, and they could have just walked away if little Goblin Jr. hadn't shown up. They were that close to spending the rest of their lives together. It's just not fair.

Andrew is such a good actor, especially his physicality. He's always so expressive in his movements that you can actually tell what he's thinking and feeling. He's honestly the most expressive out of all the Spider-men

The connection between these two carried these movies. So happy they redeemed Andrew with saving MJ in No Way Home since he couldn’t save Gwen.

i love them so much, these two were peak romance to me as a teenager. i was around 16 years old when the movies came out and even up until this date i still enjoy the chemistry they had, brings back so much memories

this is probably one of the only movie “couples”/story i will never get over because they’re exactly what true love is. it’s so beautiful, and for how horrifically and sad it ended it really is one of a kind too

TASM films were first and foremost, an enduring love story that displayed the most intimate parts of humanity: love, heartbreak, and heroism. And that's why they were amazing. The awkward smiles, ruined flowers, hilarious one-liners, spontaneous gestures of affection, and acts of self-sacrifice... the love portrayed was a work of art unrivalled by other superhero films. Anyone who hates on TASM can go pound sand.

I recently watched Andrew Garfield's Spiderman for the first time. I already knew what was going to happen to Gwen, but I still cried. Peter and Gwen deserved better.

They were so iconic that they had to kill Gwen, because they were too iconic it wasn't fair.

I never knew that Andrew’s Spidey was actually THAT funny lol. I always appreciated how Andrew portrayed him but now after hearing these jokes (especially the fake locations), it makes me love him even more!

They're such a great couple! Out of all of the live action Spidey movies, their relationship is fav. They've got such great chemistry and Peter is a total dork around her in movie one and I love it!

Still the best live-action Spider-Man relationship.

I really don’t think it’s fair to compare the relationships in the other movies because 1) Andrew and Emma were literally lightning in a bottle. Their real life love story was happening right in front of us, and 2) in all the other adaptations there is a love interest and a best friend. These roles are always separate and played by two different people, (ie Harry/ Mary Jane, Tony Stark & Avengers/Ned/MJ) whereas Gwen served as both friend and love interest. She played both roles which allowed Peter to get closer to her and rely on her in ways the other Peters never have because they either had a best friend, team, or both. In this adaptation, Gwen served as love interest, best friend/confidant, and support/team. That is what made them so great and convincing as a couple but also what ultimately doomed them and cost Gwen her life.

Emma's Gwen is the best love interest. It's inspired me so much to be like her. She's so so cool, got her shit together and just changed my perspective on female role in general (I grown up watching most of female characters as helpless one and need to be saved, it affected how I see my self and the world, luckily it's changed now).

Fun fact: when Gwen screams “PETER!” While webbed to the police car in TASM2 it was an actual slip from Emma Stone and she actually reacted by covering her mouth, it was so funny and on character they decided to leave it in the movie
