Used to listen to this song with my girlfriend when it was just released, and I'd listen to it each time we fought and went we our separate ways . . . we later got married (the best thing to ever happen to me -- she was an angel), 9 years later I lost her to cancer, and this same song came up on the radio in the car on our way to the cemetery to lay her to rest -- I cried myself to bits and pieces. I'm always scared to listen to this song, cause I can't without breaking down . . . love this song, it talks to me. I love you Moni.

If I had my way, we’d all live to be a 100 but stop aging when we’re 40. Just think of how many more great albums artists like Phil, Sting, James Taylor, etc. could make with the same creativity and strong vocals they had in their prime. Not to mention not having to deal with all the annoying health issues like poor Phil has had to deal with over the last couple of decades.

This song pulls at my heart strings as it makes me think of my ex. We were together for 17 years and when we split it broke my heart. Took me a very long time to get over losing her. I saw a post of him on Facebook on wheelchair; felt bad and almost cried for him but i understood this aspect if age where we won't remain the same over time , age will always catches up with us. I listened to this song and cried for 6 years after my husband's death... It expressed what was in my heart and 17 years later I still listen to it, the only difference is that God showed up and gave meaning to the life, just when I felt that life was worth nothing without him... I remembered the melody of this song, growing up as a child. (Boy did my late mother have great taste in music) And recalling how it was. Point is, now that I've taken the opposite to actually understand the lyrics, this song, overall means missing out, waiting for that one, special woman to come back into your life, really wanting to see her again.

One time I showed this song to a girl named Ana. She read the lyrics, I told her a story of a guy who still doesn't forget about a girlfriend he had before and he remembered her everytime he listened to this song. She said she'd never gonna leave me, that she'd always love me and I trusted in her. At the end, she broke up with me in the worst way I couldn't ever imagine, she teared me apart and just for nothing. I hope in God her to be fine but, I can't stop thinking in her, in all the illusions I had, all the dreams and sacrifices I did for her. God bless you, Ana!
