What's surprising to me is that his explanation is wrong. The force of the wind on the wing creates lift above the wing, it isn't pushed up from below.

@@montanacreed5826The explanation was correct, the profile of the wing causes air to flow faster over the top, resulting in a lower pressure. The pressure difference between the top and bottom of the wing cause it to be pushed up. You can choose to view it as being pulled up by the lower pressure if you want, but generally because of the way air pressure works it's thought of as pushing in technical terms.

well as for aeroplanes... imagine a board, a wooden one. Let it be in this position: \, or somewhere beetwen _ and \. If you now punch it horizontally, like this: -> \, it wouldn't go straight horizontally, it would also go upwards. And the more it's to being horizontal, the more up it'll go after a horizontal punch. Easy? Now swap the punching force with the air and board with a wing, and that's the principle behind uptake force
@IvanIvanov-ej2wy
@IvanIvanov-ej2wy Рік тому
in a more formal way, when the plane propels forward it hits the air molecules with wings. Then molecules bounce down the \ wing and the wing goes up and backwards due to conservation of momentum. So the plane goes up, forward and backward. Though, the forward force due to engines working is much stronger than backwards force due to air collisions. So the plane goes up and forward

How is it that nobody ever just loses it and ends up rolling helplessly on the floor? Seriously! I could easily imagine doing just that! Also, there have to be people who figure it out in the middle. Rather than leaving that on the cutting room floor, the producers really ought to make a special episode consisting entirely of "oh wait a minute, I get it now.....".

Because the experts all know in advance that she’s a comedian who is going to ask lots of stupid questions, and they’re asked to go along with it. It’s just that most of the questions she asks are so stupid that most of them can barely believe their ears 😂

She was asked that question and replied, they break; we just cut it out.
@hummingfrog
@hummingfrog Рік тому
@@notepadpowersnail1860 Yeah, I just saw the Seth Meyers interview where she says they know it's a comedy ("the cat's out of the bag now"), but they don't know what she's going to ask. This is in contrast to Sacha Baron Cohen, who's Ali G character had to be retired once it could no longer ambush unsuspecting public figures. But Philomena Cunk could keep on going for years! (It's possible though that in the early years Morgan's experts may also have been unsuspecting).
