@@montanacreed5826The explanation was correct, the profile of the wing causes air to flow faster over the top, resulting in a lower pressure. The pressure difference between the top and bottom of the wing cause it to be pushed up. well as for aeroplanes... imagine a board, a wooden one. Let it be in this position: \, or somewhere beetwen _ and \. If you now punch it horizontally, like this: -> \, it wouldn't go straight horizontally, it would also go upwards. And the more it's to being horizontal, the more up it'll go after a horizontal punch. Easy? Now swap the punching force with the air and board with a wing, and that's the principle behind uptake force
@IvanIvanov-ej2wyРік тому
in a more formal way, when the plane propels forward it hits the air molecules with wings. Then molecules bounce down the \ wing and the wing goes up and backwards due to conservation of momentum. So the plane goes up, forward and backward. Though, the forward force due to engines working is much stronger than backwards force due to air collisions. So the plane goes up and forward

How she asked about paintings where baby Jesus was being crucified with a straight face is beyond me. I had to pause and step out of the room just to stop heaving laughing.

I've always admired Philomena's ability to give that slightly glassy-eyed look of confusion all the while coming up with the funniest dumb questions on the fly.

OMG! I could watch her all day! Warning: Do NOT eat while watching these. Unless you want to have to wipe off your screen and keyboard.
